Despite reports to the contrary, multiple sources have told Fox News that the investigation into the origins of the Russia collusion probe by U.S. Attorney John Durham is moving forward.
“Durham remains full steam ahead,” one source indicated, while another described the investigation as “definitely still happening.”
The report runs contrary to another just days ago indicating that the probe was being dropped by the Justice Department.
“Durham isn’t doing anything,” one source revealed to The Federalist. “Dropping his investigations. He’s worried about blowback from Biden. What an absolute disgrace.”
In their column, Fox News hearkened back to their previous reporting that indicated Durhams’s silence around and after the election was less about the investigation being dropped, and more about him “not want(ing) this to be viewed [as] political.”
We continue to hear different accounts on the Durham investigation, including a new account that it is moving “full steam ahead”. https://t.co/D8aoeSdPVm The problem is that the “steam” could run out after Jan. 20th. https://t.co/rcnWWzq6j2

Will The Durham Probe Into the Origins of the Russia Investigation Produce More Indictments?
The Durham probe has produced one criminal charge thus far.
Kevin Clinesmith, one of the FBI officials involved in gathering evidence in the Russia investigation, pled guilty after he was accused by the Inspector General of altering an email about former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said there “will be” and “should be” more indictments to come out of the Durham investigation.
President Trump’s Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows, said in July that he expects indictments and jail time.

And Senator Lindsey Graham claimed “somebody needs to go to jail” after the FBI lied to Congress during their investigation of the Trump campaign.
“You’re going to find, not only did the FBI lie to the FISA court. They lied their ass off to the Congress,” he said.

Is There a Coverup By Mueller’s Russian Investigation Team?
Graham is right. Somebody needs to go to jail. But will they? Is Durham going to uncover the coverup?
Documents from the DOJ indicated multiple members of Mueller’s investigative team “accidentally wiped” their phones after the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) requested them.
There has been no evidence that suggests the erasures were intentional.
I didn’t know about the iPhone erasure feature. But looking at details, it’s actually pretty hard to the wipe phone clean by entering too many incorrect passwords. Apparently Andrew Weissmann managed to do it twice. From @businessinsider in 2018: https://t.co/WBqY2I4D9r

Durham was appointed by Attorney General Bill Barr last year to investigate the origins of the FBI’s Russia probe.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller completed his investigation, which yielded no evidence of criminal conspiracy or coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian officials during the 2016 election.
Mueller was granted broad powers in the investigation despite transcripts that showed Obama officials from top to bottom knew there was no evidence of Russia collusion.
It’s Durham’s job to figure out why such a high-powered witch hunt ever got off the ground.
