Worried that the media would instead focus attacks on him, independent right-wing journalist Mike Cernovich handed his biggest story of the year over to Buzzfeed.

Cernovich had initially planned on gradually releasing the sexual misconduct allegations against Democrat Representative John Conyers himself, but opted for plan B. Why? Because then, in Cernovich’s words, “Democrats are required to answer the story. They can’t use their usual smear tactics. They can’t say, ‘We don’t respond to conspiracy theorists like Mike Cernovich!’”

For the most part they have responded. After bizarrely deflecting away from the accusations and bringing up Conyers’s “legacy,” Nancy Pelosi finally called on him to resign, calling the misconduct allegations against him “serious, disappointing, and very credible.” She continued, “I pray for Congressman Conyers and his family and wish them well. However, Congressman Conyers should resign.”

He hasn’t shown any intent of resigning, but Conyers has announced that he won’t be running for re-election. To replace him, he’s endorsed the candidacy of John Conyers III – his son. “My legacy can’t be compromised or diminished in any way by what we’re going through now. This too shall pass,” he said this morning on a local Michigan radio station.

He added, “I want you to know that my legacy will continue through my children. I have a great family here and especially in my oldest boy, John Conyers III who incidentally I endorsed to replace me in my seat in Congress.”

The family name must not carry much honor under these circumstances.

Meanwhile, a review of his son’s social media reveals one particularly interesting tweet from 2010. In it he wrote “My dad is a f***ing player and reckless as hell! He just got at this doods wife super low-key.”

Well, tell us something we don’t know!
