Rand Paul Says If Biden Wants More People Vaccinated, He Should Take Off His Mask And Burn It

Rand Paul Says If Biden Wants More People Vaccinated, He Should Take Off His Mask And Burn It

On Wednesday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said that the messaging on vaccines from Washington has been full of “fearmongering,” and suggested President Joe Biden take off his mask and burn it on national television if he wants more Americans to get vaccinated.

Sen. Paul made his remarks during on interview with Fox News Martha MacCullum.

Paul Sounds Off

Paul said of White House coronavirus pandemic lead conductor Dr. Anthony Fauci, who he has been critical of, “Science is about proving things are happening.”

“If Dr. Fauci can prove that people who are vaccinated are spreading the disease, I will listen to him,” Paul told host Martha MacCallum. “If he can prove that people like me who have already had it are spreading the disease, I’ll listen to him.”

“But there is no evidence of that,” Paul insisted.

Paul then suggested what he believed was a good way to get more people vaccinated.

“If you want more people to get vaccinated, Joe Biden should go on national TV, take his mask off, and burn it,” Paul said. “Light a torch to it, and burn his mask and say, ‘I’ve had the vaccine, I am now safe from this plague. If you get the vaccine, you can be safe too.'”

He argued, “The burden of proof should be on the government to prove that we’re spreading it and we will listen to them, but instead it sounds sort of like fearmongering.”

Biden Still Wants Mask Mandates

Sen, Paul made his suggestion in the midst of the Biden administration continuing to urge states to re-implement mask mandates nationwide.

Paul has continuously criticized federal officials for ignoring evidence that the country is turning a corner on coronavirus while still issuing the same government guidance.

When Michigan sought to re-impose lockdowns recently via Biden administration recommendations, Paul said, “It doesn’t obey the science.”

Paul Doubles Down

“There is no scientific evidence that the lockdowns in Michigan have done anything, or in California,” the Kentucky senator said.

He continued, “In fact, the daily incidents of the disease in the last two months has been about almost one and a half times greater in California than it has been in Florida.”

“The death rate is lower in Florida,” Paul declared. “So there is no real correlation between economic lockdowns, mask mandates, or any of this.”

  1. I agree with Sen. Paul. Either the vaccine works or it doesn't. If it does, the masks should no longer be required. They don't do anything anyway except make a fashion statement anyway. But he is right, the best way for the government to demonstrate the efficacy of the vaccines would be for Biden to publicly remove and burn his mask and inform the people that they, too, will be safe without a mask if they have been vaccinated. This would be a no brainer. The fact that he hasn't done that suggests that there is something more nefarious in play.

  2. Yes, exactly. Any discussion on the efficacy of masking the general public to stop the spread of viruses with a person who blindly believes Fauci quickly dissolves into emotionalism. There simply is no evidence that masks work to stop the transmission of viruses. If you are looking for an investigation into Fauci's history. Dr. Judy Mikovits, who worked with Fauci, tells the story in her book Plague of Corruption: Restoring Faith in the Promise of Science.

  3. World population in 1918 – 1.4 billion
"The death rate in 1918 was very high … somewhere between 2 and 2 1/2%," Nancy Bristow, a history professor at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., told NPR.
Some reseachers have estimated a death rate as high as 10 to 20%."

  4. ‘Excess Deaths’ in 2020 Surpassed Those of 1918 Flu Pandemic
Combined with deaths in the first few months of this year, Covid-19 has now claimed more than half a million lives in the United States. The total number of Covid-19 deaths so far is on track to surpass the toll of the 1918 pandemic, which killed an estimated 675,000 nationwide.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 10 percent of the deaths last year can be directly attributed to Covid-19, which overtook other leading causes of death — like chronic lower respiratory diseases and unintentional injuries, such as car accidents and overdose deaths — to become the third biggest killer, after heart disease and cancer.

  5. Federal Employee of the Year. Hilarious. An administrative hack wins employee of the year and the dumbed-down cud-chewer thinks that really something special. If it weren't for stupidity you'd have nothing, cud-chewer.

  6. Fauxi is just another political-biased, D.C. established, administrative bureaucrat. His "medical expertise" is woefully lacking compared to the hands-on medical professionals and scientists who actually contribute to medicine/science. Being dumbed-down and indoctrinated, you can't comprehend that.

  12. ANTHONY S. FAUCI, M.D.
2020 WINNER, FEDERAL EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Dr. Fauci "served as the government’s premier expert and spokesperson on infectious diseases during six presidencies, including taking a prominent role in seeking to protect the public from the highly contagious and deadly new coronavirus that swept through the country and the world in 2020."

  13. The Board of Trustees of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology in America expresses our deep gratitude to Dr. Anthony S. Fauci for his tireless and unparalleled leadership of our nation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the SHEA Board of Trustees, we are national leaders in infection prevention and healthcare epidemiology, and the work of NIAID directly affects our own work. Our Society would like to publicly thank Dr. Fauci for his calm, consistent reliance on science and for his national leadership during this pandemic. Dr. Fauci is a trusted public health expert who has decades of service. He is a brilliant scientist and is an unwavering leader during our COVID-19 pandemic response.

  14. Rutgers Presents Moral Courage in Medicine Award to Anthony Fauci
Brian Strom, chancellor of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, presented White House chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci with the first ever Moral Courage in Medicine Award to recognize his steady and reassuring leadership steering the nation through an uncertain time during the pandemic.
“Public institutions like Rutgers have a unique responsibility to uplift and advance the health of the communities we serve. As we worked through the ebb and flow of the pandemic surges, we sought direction, leadership, accurate data and unbiased information, and in no small measure hope, amid the uncertainty and suffering unfolding around us,’’ he said. “In an era when public spiritedness and confidence in the disciplines and methodology of science were not held up as virtues of high esteem, Dr. Fauci embodied both.”

  15. The ACR (American College of Rheumatology) on behalf of its more than 7,700 members of the professional rheumatology community, wishes to express strong support for Anthony S. Fauci, MD, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and his continued and close involvement in the work to address the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During this national public health emergency, it is vital that we adhere to sound scientific and public health guidance from medical experts, including Dr. Fauci. The ACR urges that scientific evidence shape our decisions and actions as we battle the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Fauci has dedicated his life to public service, leading the NIAID since 1984.

  16. 1998 AACC LECTURESHIP AWARD
Anthony S. Fauci, MD, will receive this year’s award, supported by an educational grant from Bayer Diagnostics. Dr. Fauci, a native of Brooklyn, New York, received his MD degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1966. He then completed an internship and residency at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. In 1968, Dr. Fauci came to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a clinical associate in the Laboratory of Clinical Investigation (LCI) at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). In 1974, he became Head of the Clinical Physiology Section, LCI, and in 1977, he was appointed Deputy Clinical Director of NIAID. Dr. Fauci became Director of NAIAD in 1984.
In 1995, an Institute for Scientific Information study indicated that, among more than one million scientists around the world who published in the period of 1981–1994, Dr. Fauci was the fifth most cited. Through the years, Dr. Fauci has served as Visiting Professor at major medical centers throughout the country. He has delivered many major lectureships all over the world and is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for his scientific accomplishments, including 16 honorary doctorate degrees from universities in the US and abroad.

  17. The American College of Physicians (ACP) issued a statement supporting America’s top infectious disease specialist.
“As the number of cases and deaths increase, more than ever, we support Dr. Anthony Fauci in his effort to help stop the spread of Covid-19 and are disturbed to hear of any efforts to discredit him,” the ACP wrote in their statement. “ACP holds Dr. Fauci in high esteem as he is a Master (MACP) of the College. Election to Mastership recognizes outstanding and extraordinary career accomplishments and ongoing individual service and contributions to the practice of medicine.”
The physicians’ organization also urged “national, state and local officials to heed the advice and information from leading experts. Only then can we chart a path forward toward controlling Covid-19. We stand united with the health care community, including experts, like Dr. Fauci, who are working tirelessly to end this crisis.”

  18. IDSA Statement in Support of Anthony Fauci, M.D., FIDSA
As 12,000 medical doctors, research scientists and public health experts on the front lines of COVID-19, the infectious diseases community will not be silenced nor sidelined amidst a global pandemic. Reports of a campaign to discredit and diminish the role of Dr. Fauci at this perilous moment are disturbing.

Despite the nation’s vast resources and abilities, more than 135,000 people in America have died from COVID-19 – more than any other country, and the numbers keep rising. Every day now brings a new high in the number of newly infected people and deaths. This is a full-blown crisis unlike any America has ever faced and it needs to be treated as such.
The only way out of this pandemic is by following the science, and developing evidence-based prevention practices and treatment protocols as new scientifically rigorous data become available. Knowledge changes over time. That is to be expected.
If we have any hope of ending this crisis, all of America must support public health experts, including Dr. Fauci, and stand with science.
-IDSA President Thomas File, Jr., M.D., MSc, FIDSA

  19. AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges) President and CEO David J. Skorton, MD, and AAMC Chief Scientific Officer Ross McKinney, Jr., MD, issued the following statement in support of Anthony Fauci, MD, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases:
“The AAMC is extremely concerned and alarmed by efforts to discredit Anthony Fauci, MD, our nation’s top infectious disease expert. Dr. Fauci has been an independent and outspoken voice for truth as the nation has struggled to fight the coronavirus pandemic. . .Taking quotes from Dr. Fauci out of context to discredit his scientific knowledge and judgment will do tremendous harm to our nation’s efforts to get the virus under control, restore our economy, and return us to a more normal way of life.
America should be applauding Dr. Fauci for his service and following his advice, not undermining his credibility at this critical time.”

  20. Viruses are tinier than bacteria. In fact, the largest virus is smaller than the smallest bacterium. All viruses have is a protein coat and a core of genetic material, either RNA or DNA. Unlike bacteria, viruses can't survive without a host.

Ask a doctor if you don't comprehend the difference.

  21. Thanks to copy and paste, you have another post that still doesn’t prove anything. I remember a lot of polls that had Killary beating DJT.Remember him Donald Trump oh that’s right you’re so obsessed with him you’ll never forget.

  22. Yeah… but he's DOCTOR Rand Paul. He still practices medicine and operates on people. Dr. Fauci does NOT practice – he's just a talking head, who said himself in the beginning that masks DO NOT work AT ALL. But then the fear mongering started, and now the mask wearing continues until ??? I know people who have tested themselves 6 times (all negative) because they're scared out of their wits because of all of this. And no election fraud? Gosh… It sure was tempting to vote on behalf of my mother-in-law and my father, after receiving their ballots at my house for 10 years after they died. And what about MY Republican ballot, that I didn't get in the last 2 elections? HMMMM… My friend worked in a factory for 23 years and makes $16 an hour. Now the "newbie", who doesn't know anything makes essentially the same amount as he does. So, what do you think is going to happen now? Either the $16 an hour people get a raise to $20, or the $16 an hour guy feels like crap if he doesn't get a raise. And what else is going to happen? Prices will go up to pay this higher wage, and then you're back to square one and now the wage will have to be $20 an hour. 40 years ago, I started at $2.50 an hour, lived in my own apartment, paid cash for college, and bought a brand new car for $5000. Now people go "boo hoo hoo" while making 7 times that. Its called "inflation", and it comes from higher costs FIRST. Think first before you come up with your hairbrained ideas.

  23. You're forgetting that Fauci said at the beginning to NOT wear masks, because of this specific reason ( breathing in bacteria). So… exactly what are YOU saying here?

  24. Apparently you forgot that everybody wore masks in 1918, they didn't work then either, the flu went away and 95% of everyone survived. It will go away this time, too, because of "herd immunity". You don't need vaccines to achieve herd immunity. It happens all by itself, or we would all be dead now from something.

  25. You libs lose what little minds you have when anyone condemns abortion because, "it's the women's body and she has the right to choose what she does with her body!!!", and yet lose what little minds you have when people choose not to be injected with a substance that has only been used on humans for a few months. The sheer amount of stupidity that you cud-chewers possess is truly astounding.

  26. Violates 8th Amendment. But impeach him and indict him for treason and corruption. He's probably being bribed by vaccine companies and face mask makers.
We've always had the means to exterminate the coronavirus and prevent and cure infection by it. The vaccine lobby has been instrumental in sabotaging their use, to avoid spoiling the market for vaccines. Had we started using them in the early Spring of 2020, the pandemic would be long gone by now, with no lockdown and at a mere fraction of the public funds frittered away on feckless unconstitutional restrictions and subsidies. The coronavirus vaccines, even if safe and effective, are superfluous. Hence they're at best irrelevant and probably harmful. Hippocrates: First, do no harm.

  27. Thanks to Republican Anti-Vaxxers, the U.S. May Never Reach COVID-19 Herd Immunity
The United States is expected to run out of adults who want to get vaccinated within the next two to four weeks, citing a recent Kaiser Family Foundation analysis. According to the authors of the paper, “It appears we are quite close to the tipping point where demand for rather than supply of vaccines is our primary challenge.… Federal, state, and local officials, and the private sector, will face the challenge of having to figure out how to increase willingness to get vaccinated among those still on the fence, and ideally among the one-fifth of adults who have consistently said they would not get vaccinated or would do so only if required.“ The authors added: “Once this happens, efforts to encourage vaccination will become much harder, presenting a challenge to reaching the levels of herd immunity that are expected to be needed.”

According to a Monmouth University poll conducted between April 8 and April 12, 43% of GOP respondents said they’ll never get the coronavirus vaccine (versus just 5% of Democrats). In a Quinnipiac University poll, 45% of Republicans said they “don’t plan” on getting the shot. Overall, states that voted for Trump in 2020 are lagging behind those that went for Biden when it comes to vaccinations.

  28. "So far, nobody has provided any kind of scientific evidence or rationale that massive human intervention (i.e., global implementation of infection prevention  measures and mass vaccination) in the Covid-19 pandemic will lead to a decrease in mortality and morbidity rates in the human population. These large scale human interventions have been initiated without paying any attention to the population dynamics of a natural pandemic as caused by acute (self-limiting) viral infections."
    *****
"As large scale vaccination campaigns combined with sustained implementation of several containment measures will only expedite the occurrence of S-targeted viral escape mutations, the illusory hope that current Covid-19 vaccines could generate herd immunity should once and for all be thrown overboard. On the contrary, shedding and transmission of highly infectious variants due to insufficient neutralizing capacity of vaccinal Abs [antibodies?] are increasingly turning vaccine recipients into asymptomatic virus spreaders. Those will constitute a substantial source of infection for non-immunized segments of the population instead of (indirectly) protecting them. Meanwhile, there is a broad consensus that – unlike immunization of the population during the natural course of a pandemic – ongoing mass vaccination campaigns will never succeed in generating sufficient herd immunity to bring the pandemic under control."
Geert Vanden Bossche, DMV & PhD

  29. Dr. Anthony Stephen Fauci was first in his medical school class. He warned that face masks contribute to cause death from bacterial pneumonia. He deleted this warning but not before it was copied and republished. He ignores denigrates and even tries to block non-vaccine measures against the pandemic and defends vaccines against all criticism in an obvious effort to gin up vaccine sales. His interests in vaccine companies and how he came to have them should be thoroughly investigated. The old Sicilian has always been after big money. He's one of many examples of how smart and accomplished people can be corrupted by lust for wealth power and control.

    • Rand Paul misleadingly suggested that immunity from “naturally acquired” COVID-19 was better than that from a vaccine. But it’s not known how immunity from the two sources compares — and the entire point of a vaccine is to offer immunity without the risk of getting sick.
    • Rand Paul have misleadingly suggested that much of the U.S. population has immunity to the coronavirus due to previous exposure to similar viruses. But scientists say any possible protection is theoretical.
    • In calling for a “thorough investigation” into “election fraud,” Rand Paul distorted the facts about a Wisconsin policy that was introduced by Republicans and put in place before the 2016 general election.
    • Rand Paul claimed without evidence that only counterprotesters were arrested at the Million MAGA March and its tumultuous aftermath, and that they were solely responsible for the outbreaks of violence there.
    • Rand Paul says raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour will cost nearly 4 million people their jobs, citing the Congressional Budget Office. CBO’s median estimate is 1.3 million in 2025.

Rand Paul needs eyesight and hearing checked. Too late to save the brain.
