Presidential Candidates from Both Sides Pledge to Pardon Julian Assange

This year the left rejoiced while the right wailed in agony as the first President in U.S. history was indicted. The cherry on top of that third-world piece of cake is that this individual isn’t just a former president; he’s a current rival presidential candidate.

Congratulations, America, we’ve joined the groups of esteemed nations that overtly attack and prosecute the political rivals of the sitting ruler….er, I mean duly elected leader. To be fair, we’ve been politically persecuting people we find inconvenient to our master plans long before the Biden regime took over.

However, two other candidates who, for the time being, remain free to voice their dissent are vowing to put an end to the weaponization of the Department of Justice. These two long-shot candidates promise to clean up the corruption in our federal justice system and also swear to pardon one of the O.G.’s of truth bombing – Julian Assange.

Good Ole’ Bobby Jr.

Democratic presidential nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has come out and publicly declared he will pardon Julian Assange:

“Instead of championing free speech, the U.S. actively persecutes journalists and whistleblowers. I’ll pardon brave truth-tellers like Julian Assange and investigate the corruption and crimes they exposed. This isn’t the Soviet Union. The America I love doesn’t imprison dissidents.”

You’re right, Bobby; this isn’t the Soviet Union…however the America you love no longer exists because we actively imprison dissidents without due process all the time. RFK Jr. provided evidence of this point by listing out others he would pardon:

“Other brave truth-tellers include John Kiriakou, Chelsea Manning, Reality Winner, Daniel Hale, Thomas Drake, Jeffrey Sterling, and Edward Snowden. They were trying to return America to its democratic and humanitarian ideals.”

For those unfamiliar with some of those names, the general gist is that all of the above folks leaked classified information to journalists regarding downright criminal activity conducted by the American government.

Vivek with the breakdown

On the right side of the aisle, presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has also pledged to pardon Julian Assange “without apology.”

With perhaps the best breakdown as to why Mr. Assange’s persecution is so unjust, Mr. Ramaswamy explains:

“Assange did nothing other than publish the information that was leaked to him. That’s what the D.C. Press Corps does every day, yet this individual was politically disfavored, therefore, he was persecuted by prosecution.”

The piece de resistance of Vivek’s illustration of the sheer unjustness of Assange’s persecution comes next:

“Chelsea Manning, the person who actually worked for the government who leaked that information, had her sentence commuted by President Obama. Why? Because Chelsea Manning is transgender, part of the politically-favored class.”

If only Assange would identify as something trendy and part of the victimhood culture. Vivek hasn’t stopped there with his pardon promises.

After the indictment of former President and fellow candidate Donald Trump, the millennial declared:

“I commit to pardon Trump promptly on January 20, 2025 and to restore the rule of law in our country.”

Unfortunately, that means Vivek is destined not to win, let alone make it to the primaries. If I were him, I’d keep my eyes open for warrants and baseless indictments.

Free Assange Now!

In the early 2010s, Julian Assange released some 500,000 documents he received from then-Private First Class Bradley Manning (now Chelsea Manning) on his Wikileaks site. The documents detailed atrocities, including possible and probable war crimes committed by the United States government in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Currently, Mr. Assange is confined to Belmarsh, a prison in the United Kingdom. Recently his appeal to evade extradition to the United States was denied.

Now he hopes to get approval from the High Court of the United Kingdom to keep from coming across the pond to face “justice.”

The people who committed the war crimes? Well… they’re in charge of the prisons.

If he is sent back to the United States, he faces upwards of 175 years in prison. His wife, Stella, released this statement:

“We remain optimistic that we will prevail and that Julian will not be extradited to the United States where he faces charges that could result in him spending the rest of his life in a maximum security prison for publishing true information that revealed war crimes committed by the U.S. government.”

Interestingly earlier this year, in a Twitter poll conducted by none other than Elon Musk, over 80% of respondents said Assange and Snowden should receive pardons for their work in releasing critical information about our government’s actions.

It’s about trust

I’m all for people facing justice if they’ve done something illegal. I believe in what our justice system is supposed to do and that no one is above the law.

But the truth is we don’t live in a country with a blind justice system, and we have a government that wields its powers to silence those who would speak out against it. Vivek Ramaswamy said of this imbalance in our justice scales:

“There cannot be a two-tiered justice system in this country. If there is going to be a Trump-related special counsel, there must be a Biden-related special counsel.”

Americans don’t trust the government because of actions like the ones we’ve seen recently by the Biden DOJ, illegal baseless spying on American citizens exposed by Edward Snowden, and covered-up war crimes revealed by Julian Assange. This year, a Harvard/CAPS poll found that 71% of Americans believe wide-ranging reforms are necessary to keep law enforcement and the intelligence community from dabbling in our elections.

As much as both Democrats and Republicans like to talk down these two underdog candidates, they might be the best chances we have for going back to a free republic. Vivek vows to “shut down” the FBI.

Bobby Jr. openly discusses the “overwhelming evidence” that the CIA murdered his uncle, President John F. Kennedy. At least these two political punchlines are speaking truth to power before they end up in prison cells, or worse. We might want to start taking them seriously.
