When he wasn’t on the golf course, President Barack Obama was obsessed with college basketball. He turned his March Madness selections into a major press event every year.
But things are about to change! President Donald J. Trump has refused to continue Obama’s tradition of picking brackets for both the NCAA women’s and men’s college basketball teams for their tournaments in March.
Trump is too busy for this Obama-nonsense:
The network reached out to Trump’s staff and invited the president to fill out a bracket on-camera, just as President Barack Obama had the past several years. The network recently received word that Trump has passed. An ESPN spokesman said in a statement: “We expressed our interest to the White House in continuing the presidential bracket. They have respectfully declined.”
White House spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in an email to The Washington Post: “We look forward to working with ESPN on another opportunity in the near future.” Neither the White House nor ESPN had any details on what other opportunities might lie down the road.
Twitter instantly responded:
People are really upset that Donald Trump won’t fill out an NCAA tournament bracket????

The world is going to end because Trump won’t carry on Obama’s legacy of filling out the March Madness brackets. Oh heavens!

Thinking March Madness might be more about the Trump administration and not NCAA basketball.

The tournament starts on March 14th, but President Trump won’t be watching. We won’t have any more of this baloney:
While Trump did pick predict a victory for the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI, Trump said that he “hate(s} to make predictions.”
