President Biden Says Americans Can Trust That He Hasn’t Interfered in Trump Indictment Because ‘I’m Honest’

President Joe Biden, when asked how those viewing the indictment of Donald Trump as politically motivated could trust the Department of Justice, insisted he hasn’t swayed their decision-making and that Americans could believe him because he is  “honest.”

That declaration of honesty came on the same day Biden was embroiled in a multi-million dollar bribery scheme, something the public has heard little about since the conveniently-timed indictment.

The former President Trump, Biden’s chief political opponent in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, was charged Thursday following Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into alleged improper handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home.

The charges include willfully retaining national defense secrets in violation of the Espionage Act, making false statements, and a conspiracy to obstruct justice – the latter carrying a maximum 20-year prison sentence.

“Mr. President, what do you say to Americans to convince them that they should trust the independence and fairness of the Justice Department when your predecessor, Donald Trump, repeatedly attacks it?” a reporter asked.

“Because you notice I have never once — not one single time — suggested to the Justice Department what they should do or not do, relative to bringing a charge or not bringing a charge,” Biden replied. “I’m honest.”

Biden Is Asked About Bribery Scheme Before Declaring He’s ‘Honest’

Before declaring his honesty, President Biden fielded a question about the other big news story of the day – the release of a document by the FBI alleging a bribery scheme in which he and his son Hunter Biden were each paid $5 million by a foreign national.

Congressional Republicans who read the informant file regarding the bribery scheme said it involved the Ukrainian company Burisma, where Hunter served on the board despite having no relevant experience.

President Biden had famously bragged about getting a prosecutor fired for investigating potential corruption at Burisma.

“Can you comment on the bribery allegations against you, President Biden?” a reporter asked. “Congresswoman Nancy Mace says there’s damning evidence in the FBI file that you sold out the country. Do you have a response to the congressional Republicans?”

Biden replied by calling the allegations “malarkey.”

“Where’s the money?” he asked. “I’m joking. It’s a bunch of malarkey.”

To the contrary, Fox News reported that the informant is “highly credible” and has been used by the FBI “in multiple investigative matters dating back to the Obama administration.”

Trump Calls Indictment ‘Election Interference’

On Thursday, Trump delivered a blistering response to the indictment, accusing the White House of being involved in “election interference at the highest level.”

“This is the most corrupt administration in history — there has never been an administration so corrupt, and they’re just starting to find it right now,” Trump said in an exclusive interview with Fox News.

“They are trying to deflect all of their dishonesty by bringing this ridiculous boxes hoax case,” he insisted. “They’re not going to get away with it.”

It bears repeating that “Honest” Biden also mishandled classified documents. He had them strewn about multiple locations, including in a garage alongside his Corvette. Despite a special counsel being appointed to investigate the current president, there have been no indictments in that case.

When asked if Biden could suffer the same fate in his classified document case, Trump responded, “Probably not — nothing will happen.”

Nothing ever happens. I’m honest.
