The group of conservative Republicans in the House of Representatives known as the Freedom Caucus are threatening to shut down the government over a lack of border wall funding.

Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows told Breitbart News that there are “enough conservative members who will not support any funding mechanism that does not include border wall funding.”
The next fiscal fight in Washington will occur in September, and some conservatives are preparing to wage war with Democrats and weak-kneed Republicans who refuse to provide funding to build a wall along the border with Mexico.
The wall was a key Trump campaign promise, and some lawmakers would rather make a political point by withholding funding than keep our country safe.
