A new survey by Gallup indicates 70 percent of Democrats believe some form of socialism would be good for America.
The findings seem especially relevant as we celebrate Memorial Day, honoring military heroes from World War II who courageously fought the rise of an uneasy alliance between socialism and communism across Europe.
“Yes,” political commentator Glenn Beck explains, “Hitler and the Nazis were socialists, for the simple reasons that they were staunchly anti-capitalist and believed that the means of production in their society should be controlled by a centralized state power.”
“That is very clear from their writings, their words and their actions,” he adds.
Now, 70 percent of Democrats also believe that at some level, capitalism is evil and production should be dictated by the government.

The Gallup survey shows that aside from the Democrats embracing socialism, self-identified liberals support socialism at an 85 percent clip.
Overall, however, the polling firm notes that “51% [of Americans] believe socialism would be a bad thing for the country.”
Still, there are 43 percent of Americans who view socialism as a good thing, up drastically from 25 percent in a Roper/Fortune Survey conducted in 1942.
Trump Vows America Will Never Be Socialist
Fortunately for the good of our nation, President Trump doesn’t want to see America return to an economic and social system reminiscent of Nazi Germany. The same can’t be said for the opposition party.
Two freshman House Democrats, Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
Fellow Rep. Ilhan Omar has been accused by Vice President Mike Pence of “choos[ing] socialism over freedom.”
As Venezuelans take to the streets to stand for their freedom against an oppressive dictator, Democrat Congresswoman @IlhanMN chooses socialism over freedom. The Trump Administration stands with the freedom-loving people of Venezuela. https://t.co/UYiPLPvKl5

During a town hall event in February, 2020 candidate Bernie Sanders refused to say America would not become a socialist nation should he be elected President.
President Trump, in his most recent State of the Union address, took direct aim at the Democratic Socialists. He vowed that America would never succumb to the travesty of socialism.
President Donald Trump slams socialism: “America was founded on liberty and Independence and not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free and we will stay free.”
“America will never be a socialist country.”

That’s something we can all celebrate as Americans.
