Bernie Declines to Guarantee America Won’t Become a Socialist Country If He’s Elected President

During a town hall event, 2020 candidate Bernie Sanders refused to say America won’t become a socialist nation should he be elected President.

CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer made reference to President Trump’s vow in the State of the Union address that America would never succumb to the travesty of socialism.

“America was founded on liberty and independence – not government coercion, domination, and control,” declared the President. “We are born free, and we will stay free.”

“Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country.”

Aside from the enthusiastic reception Trump received for denouncing socialism, one of the significant takeaways was the distraught look on Bernie’s face when the camera zoomed in.

Blitzer pushed for further reaction Monday night, asking if the vow to never be a socialist country “Will … hold true if you’re elected president?”

No Promises From Bernie

Sanders, a devout socialist, naturally couldn’t rule out the possibility and instead pivoted to such socialist platforms as ‘free’ college, ‘free’ healthcare, along with higher minimum wages, and global warming.

“If I am elected president, we will have a nation in which all people have health care as a right,” he announced. “Whether Trump likes it or not. We are going to make public colleges and universities tuition-free. We are going to raise the minimum wage to a living wage of at least 15 bucks an hour.”

“Whether Trump likes it or not, when I talk about human rights, you know what that also means, it means that our kids and grandchildren have the human right to grow up in a planet that is healthy and habitable,” Sanders said, failing to mention recent news that he’s a big fan of polluting the air with his private jets.

“It is really a disgrace and an embarrassment that we have a president who rejects science, who does not even understand that climate change is real and caused by human activity,” he added.

Meanwhile, his resistance party continues to deny actual science involving when life begins by promoting the death of babies for reasons no more dire than convenience.

Refused to Call a Dictator a Dictator

Perhaps even more concerning, Sanders refused to call Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro, who detained an American citizen and continues to block humanitarian aid from reaching the Venezuelan people, a dictator.

“Why have you stopped short of calling Maduro of Venezuela a dictator?” Blitzer asked.

“I think it’s fair to say that the last election was undemocratic,” he responded. “But there are still Democratic operations taking place in their country.”

Democratic operations?

“We’ve got to do everything we can, but at the end of the day, it’s going to be the people of Venezuela who determine the future of their country, not the United States of America,” he added.

Venezuela is a good example of what’s in store for America should Bernie and his socialist Democrat colleagues continue to gain power.
