Two Undercover Police Ambushed, Shot in Miami-Dade County

Late Monday night, two Miami-Dade County police officers were ambushed by gunmen during an undercover operation while sitting in an unmarked police cruiser.

From Fox News:

Authorities were searching for six people Tuesday morning in connection to the shooting, authorities said. One of the shooters was in his late teens and was wearing a hooded sweatshirt that only showed his eyes

“They were outnumbered and outgunned. God was watching over them tonight,’’ John Rivera, Miami-Dade union president, said.

The shooting occurred at around 10 p.m. in Brownsville. The officers were on gang detail, The Miami Herald reported. The detectives were part of the Homicide Task Force-Gang Unit and were assisting other officers in a city-wide sweep.

Thankfully, the two officers are likely to survive the ambush, as their injuries were not life threatening. Hopefully police can track down the 6 individuals involved in the horrific attack on these two Miami-Dade police.

Over the past several years, America’s police have been under attack from violent criminals across the country. Last summer, 5 Dallas police officers were murdered in cold blood, and 9 other individuals were injured. In December, one police officer was killed and another was seriously wounded after being shot by a man near Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus.

During the same month, police officers were shot at by an individual in Nevada. Thankfully no one was injured at the time.

This is a breaking news story.
