Pelosi Torches The Squad – Brutally Mocks AOC In New Biography

Pelosi AOC

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) reportedly torches Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her radically liberal “Squad” in a new biography written by USA Today Washington bureau chief Susan Page.

Pelosi Attacks AOC And The Squad

Page interviewed Pelosi ten times for this book, which is set to be released on April 20. During these interviews, Pelosi took shots at Ocasio-Cortez as well as Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). She specifically mocked Ocasio-Cortez specifically for her youth and apparent ignorance, according to Axios.

“Pelosi unloads on the Squad, at one point adopting a child-like voice when discussing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and offers the Squad this blunt advice: ‘You’re not a one-person show. This is the Congress of the United States,'” this report stated.

Pelosi Calls Out Obama

Pelosi also reportedly blamed former President Barack Obama for issues she had whipping votes in favor of the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, from lawmakers representing Obama’s home state of Illinois.

“Why are we having a problem with Illinois?” Pelosi asked, adding that Obama does not deserve sole credit for getting legislation through Congress under his administration.

On top of that, Pelosi lashed out at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, saying that he “is not a force for good in the country. He is an enabler of some of the worst stuff, and an instigator of some of it on his own.”

Pelosi told Page that she learned the art of politics from her father, Baltimore Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro:

“What I learned from my father was everything … I breathed it in … Politics is every minute of every day. It is part of you,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi And AOC’s History

Pelosi and Ocasio-Cortez have long had an adversarial relationship. Back in January, Pelosi was asked by “60 Minutes” host Lesley Stahl, “Why does AOC complain that you have not been grooming younger people for leadership?”

“I don’t know,” Pelosi replied, according to Business Insider. “You’ll have to ask her — because we are.”

“That was kind of sharp, kind of dismissing her,” Stahl said in response.

“I’m not dismissing her. I respect her,” Pelosi said. “I think she’s very effective, as are many other members in our caucus that the press doesn’t pay attention to. But they are there, and they are building support for what comes next.”
