Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) let fly with an admission that the child migrant crisis that President Trump is being lambasted for was just as prevalent under Barack Obama, but they were able to keep it quiet.
Cuellar discussed the crisis at the southern border during an interview with CNN, twice admitting that the previous administration tried to keep it from the American public.
“It was kept very quiet under the Obama administration,” he confessed. “There were large numbers of people coming in. The Obama administration was trying to keep this quiet.”
The major difference – Obama had a compliant media who was more than willing to turn a blind eye to the humanitarian issue because it would have made him look bad. Now? They’re doing their best to make Trump look bad for the same exact crisis Obama helped make worse. (RELATED: Trump’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ Immigration Policy Isn’t New – Obama Did the Same Thing).
@SenatorCollins @FLOTUS Rep. Henry Cuellar (D): Obama admin. worked to keep child detention centers “quiet” where they separated children from parents and media didn’t cover it! https://t.co/18u8BaGoGN

CNN even showed images of ‘caged’ illegal immigrant children that the media originally reported as happening under Trump, though the truth was later revealed that they were taken during the Obama administration. (RELATED: MSNBC Accidentally Reports Truth About ‘Caged’ Immigrants).
Cuellar added that the problem is nothing new and that today’s numbers essentially mirror those during the Obama years.
“We still see the numbers,” he stated, although “not all of them are being separated. Some of them are coming alone.”
Cuellar then admitted that separating children is what the law states, something President Trump has been arguing all along.
Children are being used by some of the worst criminals on earth as a means to enter our country. Has anyone been looking at the Crime taking place south of the border. It is historic, with some countries the most dangerous places in the world. Not going to happen in the U.S.

Why don’t the Democrats give us the votes to fix the world’s worst immigration laws? Where is the outcry for the killings and crime being caused by gangs and thugs, including MS-13, coming into our country illegally?

“Keep in mind that, under the law, you can separate a child if that person — the adult — is not the real parent or the custodian,” Cuellar explained, “because sometimes we see situations where they’ll bring a child because they know of the policy that we have over here with children.”
He went on to suggest that the “zero tolerance” policy when it comes to separating families needs to be scrutinized further.
Amazing how they let it go on unabated during Obama’s reign, but the tears, the heartache, and the scrutiny only start when President Trump deals with the same issue.
