‘Nonpartisan’ Group Enlists Biden Superfan Taylor Swift to ‘Get Out the Youth Vote’ (Vote for Democrats)

This week, a video sold as a meeting between Pentagon officials and NATO implied that mega-superstar Taylor Swift should be considered a possible asset in a mission to counter misinformation on the internet. It didn’t take long for this video to stir the conspiracy theorists up with claims that Tay-Tay was either a knowing or unwitting Pentagon psyops agent.

The truth was the video had nothing to do with the Pentagon, and the left-wing arm of mainstream media was quick to point out the egg dripping from the faces of many conservative pundits. While it should’ve been fairly clear to anyone that the video wasn’t what it was sold to be, the truth remains… Taylor Swift and all that comes with her has immense power.

The Swift-verse has its own economic ecosystem, with her tour reinvigorating the tourism industries of cities across the United States. The question is, can and is Taylor Swift actively being used to try to influence the next presidential election?

Get out the vote

This week, Fox News’ Jesse Watters used the viral NATO video to run a segment focused on the possibility that Taylor Swift is being used as a Pentagon psyop or tool of the White House to try to sway the next presidential election. Pivoting to an actual real event, Mr. Watters touched on Ms. Swift’s social media call to action last year.

Last September, Taylor Swift took to her Instagram and encouraged her fans to register to vote on the Vote.org website:

“I’ve been so lucky to see so many of you guys at my U.S. shows recently. I’ve heard you raise your voices, and I know how powerful they are. Make sure you’re ready to use them in our elections this year!”

An hour after she posted the above, Vote.org recorded over 35,000 new registrations with a 1,226% surge in participation. In response to Jesse Watters’ claims, the CEO of Vote.org wrote on X that Taylor Swift isn’t a psy-op but merely a celebrity trying to increase youth voter participation, claiming that Vote.org is:

“Just the biggest nonpartisan platform in America helping young people register & cast their vote.”

But is Vote.org nonpartisan when they enlist someone like Taylor Swift as their spokesperson?

Vote!… but only for Democrats

While Taylor Swift’s Instagram message lacked any partisan language, it’s no secret that the pop superstar is a Democrat. In 2018, she publicly endorsed two Democrats in her home state of Tennessee.

Two years later, she endorsed Joe Biden for President and said in a magazine interview:

“The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included.”

I’ll set aside the amount of privilege it takes for those to be absolute top priorities in the year 2020.

This would explain recent articles from left-wing media proposing that Taylor Swift may be the answer to the Team Biden-Harris campaign’s woes with pieces like the one recently published on MSNBC’s website titled Taylor Swift could save Joe Biden in 2024. No, seriously. To call the request to mobilize Taylor Swift to churn out the vote without naming particular candidates or parties and claiming it is nonpartisan is folly.

Even the most vapid of Swifties knows the singer is a liberal who laments climate change while traveling the globe in her private jet and flaunting her Christianity while bemoaning the reversal of Roe v. Wade. But to call it a psyop is a stretch.

Democrats have relied on celebrities to carry their message for decades because attaching a celebrity to a product is just plain good marketing. To claim that’s not what Vote.org is doing is to assume everyone is too dumb to know better.

Taking it global

It’s not just the American liberal machine that is hoping Taylor Swift can “save” Joe Biden; European liberals are outright begging her to do the same in their countries. European Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas explained that:

“No one can mobilize youth better than young people.”

Taylor Swift is taking her tour to Europe this year, and the European Commission VP is hoping T-Swizzle can mobilize the youth vote like the American left hopes she can here. Mr. Schinas went on to beg:

“I very much hope that someone from her media team follows this press conference and relays our request to her.”

Don’t be fooled; this plea isn’t just to make sure the Millennial and Gen Z Europeans engage with their government regardless of their political afflictions, just as it isn’t here in the United States. It’s a prayer that using Taylor Swift’s seismic influence on Millennials and Gen Z’rs will mobilize the liberals who enjoy her tunes.

A Reuter’s article warned that:

“This year’s European Parliament election could see a rise of far-right parties looking to toughen immigration laws and back off climate policies.”

Who better to counter those policies than Taylor Swift? I think Ms. Swift should stick to what she does best: entertain the masses – particularly since the old white guy in the White House confused her with Britney Spears.

Typical Post War Generation old fart – assuming all white female singers are the same. How insulting!
