The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday that the Trump administration’s efforts to strip funding from abortion clinics are constitutional.
The Los Angeles Times published a column this past weekend lamenting the fact that the President had effectively flipped the makeup of the once far-left court by appointing ten constitutionalist judges to lifetime positions.
The column predicted the court would produce “a sea change” in its rulings on a variety of topics “from immigration to reproductive rights” making it “easier for the president to prevail.”
Tax-Funded Clinics Stripped Of Funding
That prediction came true for one aforementioned topic. The Ninth Circuit upheld a declaration from the White House in 2019 that taxpayer-funded clinics that refer women for abortions would be stripped of Title X funding.
That ruling, according to Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser, is “a vindication of President Trump’s pro-life policies and a victory for the American people.”
She added that taxpayer-funded abortion is opposed by “a strong majority of Americans.”
Today, a federal court upheld the Trump admin’s unethical, dangerous Title X gag rule — denying relief for patients across the country who depend on Planned Parenthood and other Title X providers for birth control and other care.
Congress must reverse the gag rule. #ProtectX

Promises Made, Promises Kept
Chalk up another victory for President Trump in the ‘promises made, promises kept’ department.
In February of 2016, Trump declared as a then-Republican candidate for President that he “would defund [Planned Parenthood] because of the abortion factor.”
“I don’t know what percentage it is. They say it’s 3 percent. But I would defund it, because I’m pro-life,” he stated, citing statistics the abortion mill claims show only a small amount of their business involves that very act.

Americans United for Life (AUL) issued a statement regarding the new ruling showing they are “grateful that the court of appeals has seen through the false cries of the abortion industry and upheld a rule that protects women’s health as well as taxpayer’s consciences.”
.@POTUS Trump is the most pro-life President in American history! And it was my honor as Vice President to cast the tie-breaking vote to allow states across America to defund Planned Parenthood. #SBC18 pic.twitter.com/XOCjyuL1HN

Praise For Trump’s Efforts
There has been no shortage of praise for President Trump’s effort to ensure that taxpayers do not fund the abortion industry in violation of the law.
“Abortion providers have no inherent right to the public’s money,” the New Hampshire Union Leader editorial board wrote in praise of the end to abortion subsidies.
Cheryl Chumley of the Washington Times said the proposal made “his (Trump’s) Christian and evangelical base quite happy.”
“[It is] what Trump said he’d do while campaigning for president — to stop using taxpayer dollars to support agencies that provide abortions,” she claimed.
Prior to the March For Life in 2018, vice president Mike Pence declared the President to be “the most pro-life president in American history.”
He’s continued those efforts and helped his own cause by flipping judges in some of the most extremely liberal courts in the country. The nation needs more of these victories in 2020 and beyond.
