Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood is one of the few celebrities who refuses to hide his conservative principles. For decades, Eastwood has been making patriotic, pro-America movies that have captivated audiences worldwide.
Now the outspoken conservative filmmaker is at it again, tackling the story of three American heroes who stopped an Islamic terrorist from causing chaos on a Paris train in August of 2015.
Eastwood will tell the story of a train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris, and the Moroccan terrorist, Ayoub El Khazzan, who attempted to kill countless individuals on the train, using an assault rifle and a pistol.
Thankfully, three American heroes, two of them off-duty members of the military, subdued the terrorist before he was able to harm any passengers.
From Variety:
Based on the true story, “The 15:17 to Paris” tells the story of three American soldiers who stopped a terrorist plot on a train bound for Paris. The film is based on the book by Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone and Jeffrey E. Stern. Dorothy Blyskal will write the script.
Eastwood will produce with Tim Moore, Kristina Rivera and Jessica Meier.
The film falls in line with Eastwood’s recent interest in real life heroes following “American Sniper” and “Sully,” both of which were two of his biggest box office hits. Eastwood hopes to get the film underway sometime this year.
Eastwood had been weighing a handful of movie including “Impossible Odds” which followed humanitarian worker Jessica Buchanan, who was kidnapped while working in Somalia and later rescued by a group of Navy Seals.
Eastwood’s recent movie “American Sniper” featured American hero Chris Kyle, who risked his life to save countless others. “American Sniper” was a box office success, but liberals in Hollywood attacked the movie for supposedly being pro-war, even though Eastwood said the movie is actually anti-war.
The premise of this movie sounds like a hit, and Eastwood is the perfect director to honor three American heroes risking their lives to protect others! Undoubtedly, the left will find some way to criticize this movie, as they do with everything Eastwood does, but knowing his track record, this will be yet another box office success.
