‘Never-Trump’ Republicans Looking To Form Their Own Party

A group of “anti-Trump” Republicans led by former independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin is considering forming their own political party.

The Hill reports that over 120 individuals took part in a conference call to discuss the matter.

The group consisted of former employees of the Trump administration, along with Reagan and Bush administration officials, and former Republican members of Congress.

The group “are in talks to form a political party that would break away from supporters of former President Trump,” the report states.

McMullin spoke of the effort, denigrating supporters of the former President as if they’ve been brainwashed.

“Large portions of the Republican Party are radicalizing and threatening American democracy,” McMullin told Reuters. “The party needs to recommit to truth, reason and founding ideals or there clearly needs to be something new.”

Never-Trump Republicans Want to Start Their Own Party

Could there be anything more doomed to fail than an anti-Trump party led by a guy who only appeared on eleven state ballots in 2016 and who on election night delivered a concession speech to a raucous crowd of … 300 people?

McMullin, who former President Trump often described as “McMuffin,” doesn’t seem to have polling numbers on his side in trying to get a new party off the ground.

poll from Axios-Ipsos shows Republican voters are taking sides in the war against Trump – and it isn’t with the establishment.

The results show a vast majority of Republicans do not hold Trump responsible for the Capitol riots, believe he had a right to challenge the election, and a whopping 92 percent still see him as their preferred nominee in 2024.

Anti-Trump Doesn’t Work

Additionally, another poll from last week shows an overwhelming percentage of Republican voters would join a new political party established by former President Donald Trump.

Meaning, Republicans support Trump whether he decides to stay within the GOP or if he plans to start his own political party.

There is a fire for the former President that nobody in politics has been able to emulate, least of all McMullin.

Reuters indicates the group is considering naming itself the Integrity Party or the Center Right Party.

McMullin’s ‘integrity’ led to him owing former campaign staff member tens of thousands of dollars that he never paid back, despite branding himself a “fiscal conservative.”

No matter what name they give themselves, the group will always be known as the ‘Never-Trump Party’ and nothing more.

Showing they are completely out of touch with reality, one participant on the anti-Trump party formation call said, “There is a far greater hunger for a new political party out there than I have ever experienced in my lifetime.”

That hunger is for lawmakers to be more like Donald Trump, not more like grifter and attention whore, Evan McMullin.

A Rasmussen survey in late December indicated 72 percent of Republican voters want their legislators to be more like Trump and less like the RINOs that currently litter the GOP landscape.

In fact, in their view, Trump is an extraordinarily better role model than most members of Congress.

The national telephone and online survey found that “72% of Likely Republican Voters think their party should be more like Trump than like the average GOP member of Congress,” Rasmussen reports.

Isn’t that what McMullin and the Never-Trump Republicans are – average? Who wants to be associated with that?
