Never Trump Republican John Kasich Blasts Colorado Ballot Ruling As ‘Pure Partisan Ridiculous Stuff’

Former Ohio Governor John Kasich roundly criticized the Colorado Supreme Court ruling removing Donald Trump from the ballot, referring to it as “ridiculous stuff.”

The one-time presidential candidate himself made the comments in an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Jansing.

Kasich, a devout member of the “Never Trump” group of Republicans opposing the former President’s re-election, reminded Jansing that he is no supporter of the former President by any means.

However, when asked where he saw the Colorado effort to keep Trump off the ballot going, he replied, “It’s going nowhere.”

“I mean, look, I don’t need to lay out my bona fides as my opposition to Donald Trump, but this is just pure partisan ridiculous stuff here,” Kasich contends.

Kasich On The Colorado Ballot Ruling – ‘Ridiculous’

Following the 4-3 partisan ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court, there’s been a consistent theme. While the usual suspects are offering their expected commentary on both sides, world leaders and even those vehemently opposed to Trump’s candidacy are coming out and blasting the court.

Kasich kept that trend going, pointing out that Democrats might not like the Pandora’s Box they’ve opened up here.

“If it were to hold up, you tell me … what we’re looking at in terms of future decisions being made by partisan judges that tell somebody who should be on the ballot and who shouldn’t,” he said.

Kasich challenged Democrats to actually beat Trump at the ballot box instead of in the courts using activist judges.

“Frankly, I know there are probably a lot of Democrats excited about this, but I got news for them, or some advice for them: Why don’t you figure how to beat Trump?” he wondered. “That would be the important decision.”

Kasich More Worried About Trump Than What Is Right Or Wrong

Kasich’s further commentary seems to reveal that he’s less concerned about the ruling being unconstitutional and more worried that it might rally support for Trump.

“I can tell you what these ‘Trumpets’ are going to say. They’re going to say, ‘You see, that deep state, they won’t even let him compete. They won’t even let him into the ballpark and be able to swing at a pitch,’” he told Jansing. “That’s what they’re going to say.”

Guess what, John? The “Trumpets” you just sneered at are right. They’ve been right all along. The Joe Biden administration has tried every shady avenue known to man to try and keep this man from running against their leader.

Kasich expressed support for the impeachment inquiry against Trump in 2019, and later spoke at the 2020 Democratic National Convention in support of Biden.

Further proving his Democrat sympathies, Kasich admitted to crying after his loss to Trump in the 2016 GOP primary.
