Mitch McConnell: ‘Classless’ Obama Should Have ‘Kept His Mouth Shut’ About Trump

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell absolutely leveled Barack Obama over his criticism of the current administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

During an interview on the president’s official YouTube video channel with Lara Trump, McConnell suggested the former President had acted “classless” in using a national crisis as a means to attack his successor.

“We know he doesn’t like much [what] this administration is doing, that’s understandable,” the Kentucky Republican said. “But I think it’s a little bit classless frankly, to critique an administration that comes after you.”

Shut Your Mouth

Obama has long been chirping his complaints as background noise to the administration’s successes for quite some time, but his comments have been more vociferous of late.

In a conveniently leaked private call to supporters, he described Trump’s response to the coronavirus crisis as an “absolute chaotic disaster” and claimed that an isolationist mindset in government was responsible.

Ironic, since instituting travel bans and quarantining those from countries known to have spread the virus is part of what Trump has been credited with in saving countless lives.

It’s clear McConnell doesn’t want to hear Obama’s nonsense any longer.

“Generally former presidents just don’t do that,” reminded McConnell. “I remember that President George W. Bush and his father, went right through eight years of Democratic administrations after they left office and kept their mouths shut, because they didn’t feel it was appropriate for former presidents to even critique a president of another party/”

“So I think President Obama should have kept his mouth shut,” he added.

You Had Your Shot

McConnell proceeded to point out that Obama had a chance to make America great again and he failed. Miserably.

“You had your shot, you were there for eight years,” he critiqued even further. “I think the tradition that the Bushes set up of not critiquing the president comes after you is a good tradition.”

Obama though is too much of a narcissist to not pretend he could have done things better.

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has suggested Obama has been amplifying his criticism of the President as a means to deflect the fact that he’s been caught in the Russia collusion scandal.

“Why is [Obama] doing this?” Limbaugh asked. “Because it has been revealed that Barack Obama collaborated with the FBI to invent the Russia collusion scandal.”

Now that Obama has been linked to the collusion hoax as well as the entrapment of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, perhaps he should take McConnell’s advice and just shut up.
