Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen Confirms Migrants Using Human Shields

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen has confirmed the throng of caravan migrants attempting to enter the U.S. through the southern border is using woman and children as human shields.

All eyes were on the U.S. border with Mexico on Sunday when a slew of migrants attempted to break down a part of the border wall to enter the United States unlawfully. Some of the migrants attacked border guards, throwing rocks and projectiles, which prompted a retaliatory salvo of tear gas – standard practice by the Border Patrol. They are being put at risk by the caravan organizers as we saw at the Mexico-Guatemala border. This is putting vulnerable people in harms way.

Such behavior is unconscionable. Anyone who engages in it should automatically forfeit their right to asylum, or even leniency when it comes to strict border enforcement. Here is Neilson’s full post:

Thankfully, both the Trump administration and the Mexican government are prosecuting and deporting these would-be invaders. (RELATED: Migrants Arrested And Deported After Rushing the U.S. Border.) The migrant caravan poses a violent threat to our nation, and we shouldn’t settle for anything less than dispersing it as soon as possible.
