A playful exchange following the Grammys between Michelle Obama and her mom shows the former First Lady insisting she is “a real star,” despite her mother’s skepticism.
Obama was all the rage at the show Sunday night, introduced by Alicia Keys alongside other A-listers Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Jennifer Lopez.
Repeatedly interrupted by applause, Obama waxed poetic, saying, “Music helps us share ourselves, our dignity and sorrows, our hopes and joys … It allows us to hear one another, to invite each other in. Music shows us that all of it matters.”
Those in attendance ate it up. You can feel the giddiness as they hang on her every word, jumping up and down with excitement.
One person close to Michelle, however, was none too impressed. Her mom.
Obama shared a text exchange between herself and her mother after the appearance, in which the latter asks, “Did you meet any of the real stars or did you run right after you were done?”
Not missing a beat, the former First Lady reminded her mother that “I Am A real star … by the way.”
Mom’s response?
“Yeah.”
Obama shared the funny exchange with the caption: “When your mom doesn’t think you’re a ‘real’ celebrity.”
It is an amusing exchange, more so because the Obamas have probably been told they are real Hollywood stars throughout most of their public life, simply because they share Tinseltown’s liberal views.
While the attendees were clearly beside themselves with excitement over Obama’s appearance, there were others equally unimpressed by her presence.
“I still don’t understand why Michelle Obama was at the Grammys,” one person said upon viewing the clip of her appearance. “What was the purpose of her visit?”
“I will never watch another Grammy Award show,” another wrote.
Perhaps if the Grammys focused solely on the real stars and artists instead of pushing a political agenda at every single self-congratulatory awards show, more people would watch.
Last year’s Grammy award ceremony featured another, far less popular former First Lady.
Hillary Clinton read an excerpt from the provably fictitious White House expose, “Fire and Fury,” in which she described President Trump’s penchant for eating at McDonald’s.
“I have always loved the Grammys but to have artists read the Fire and Fury book killed it,” then-Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said of Hillary’s inclusion. “Don’t ruin great music with trash.”
Maybe the committee will figure it out next year, but we won’t be holding our breath.

I did not watch this I have stopped watching all of this junk. I just have one question How did the court jesters get the upper hand. I think we miss managed our employees. If we don't buy the songs,or go to the movies, or watch the shows theses people go out of business. And have you ever heard , where the King asks the court jesters what to do in the kingdom? We have got to put a stop to the fawning over theses people. They are no better than any of us, yet they get to call all the shots. Influence the government to make laws that only benefit them and what they want.Washington uses them to act the part of everyday people to get the vote. When was the last time you saw any of theses people mingling with us. Flying enconmy class ect. We made this mess, it's time we fix it. Stop buying the products watching the shows and movies and stop buying the music. Let's see how long before they start singing a different tune. Obama is a sorry excuse for a human being one of the most self center of the bunch. I turn off anything that she is involved in. Turn her off . She would rather hang with Hollywood than do in televised charity. Showing her true self hanging with Hollywood.
Stop picking on Michelle's mom she obviously has a hard time remembering what day of the week it is.
Grammy's? If rap music is a music genre then I don't watch the Grammys because they obviously are more about sales than anything to do with music. Its a total waste of time, no wonder michelle appeared, that should tell you how passe the Grammys are today.
Michelle's mum sounds rather astute.Pity the daughter did not inherit any of her good sense.

Mrs. F posting: The only time will be impressed with either Obama is when they are testifying at a Military Tribunal, then get dressed up in an orange jumpsuit and get escorted into a cage.
It sounds like Michelle and her mom both have memory issues.
