We reported weeks ago that Meghan McCain, daughter of Senator John McCain and former Fox News contributor, was rumored to be joining The View. The speculation came about because conservative host Jedediah Bila had left the show with little notice. This left a spot open on the show to be filled by a conservative voice. With McCain out at Fox, and Jebediah’s sudden departure, the rumor mill spun with anticipation.
Today, the rumors were confirmed: Meghan McCain will be taking Jebediah’s place on The View.
Deadline Hollywood reports: “McCain’s starting next month, joining the panel that includes Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Paula Faris, Sunny Hoston and Joy Behar — for now anyway. The show continues to be known as a revolving door, panelist on the show have one of the most dangerous jobs on daytime TV.”

I don’t personally watch The View, so I’m not super excited by this news. This is especially so given McCain’s history of having progressive points of view on most issues.
The View is a ladies’ talk show that is infamous for being very critical of President Trump. The hosts are almost all liberals, and that will continue to be the case with McCain. Though she’s a former Fox News contributor and calls herself a conservative, she’s nearly always on the liberal side of any given issue. Just recently, she called out President Trump on Twitter:
What more must my family be put through right now? This is abhorrent. https://t.co/xJmFdh93xL

I’m going to take a wild guess and assume no Fox viewer will follow McCain to The View. The show will continue to be a catty, gossipy roundtable devoid of critical conversation.
