Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters recently said that former President Donald Trump was trying to ‘expand his base’ so they could “undermine the Constitution.”
Rep. Waters made her remarks during an interview on the Cheddar Business Network program “All Hands.”

Waters said, “What has been happening with the leadership of the former President of the United States of America, President Trump at his speeches, and rallies that he’s holding with the effort to not only expand his base but to expand the base in such a way that they undermine the Constitution of the United States.”
Waters did not present any evidence to back up her claims, but did complain about Trump calling the 2020 presidential election “fraudulent.”
“He continues to lead with that the last election was fraudulent and he should be the president,” Waters said. “He’s organizing around the effort to get them supporting him, perhaps to run for president the United States in the next presidential election.”
Waters said that Trump supporters were trying to “undermine election laws” and “to try in some way to pull off a coup d’etat.”
The far-left Congresswoman from California has never been shy about her views.
Speaking last year about her predictions for the upcoming midterm elections, Waters said Republicans were “worse” than just being evil:
“We know that they’re evil,” Waters said. “We know that they lie. We know that they don’t give a darn about facts and so we’ve got to overcome that with the truth.”
MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart followed up, “They’re evil? I mean, that’s a strong word, congresswoman.”
Waters doubled down, saying, “Worse than that. Worse than that. Evil. When you see the kind of attacks that you have talked about already, that’s constantly being made by them, that’s evil.”
