Mark Cuban Considering Running Against Trump as a Republican in 2020

ABC’s hit show Shark Tank has been a massive success, streaming the American Dream live into the nation’s television screens on Sunday nights. The show’s “Sharks” are diverse not just in race and gender (the only kind of diversity liberals seem to care about) but in the experiences and ideology they bring to the table.

Thus far, only one of the show’s “Sharks,” Kevin O’Leary (perhaps better known on the show as Mr. Wonderful), has made a run for political office. A supporter of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, the Canadian citizen campaigned for the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada earlier this year. He had the end of goal of challenging Justin Trudeau for the position of prime minister, but ended up dropping out of the leadership race.

Another one of the Sharks, Mark Cuban (who boasts a net worth greater than the entire cast of the show combined), has involved himself in politics, but has not yet campaigned for office. He first supported, then vigorously opposed, Donald Trump’s 2016 candidacy, and devoted time to appearing alongside Hillary on the campaign trail to bolster her candidacy.

But would Cuban run against Trump himself? He seemed to indicate that a battle of the billionaires could be possible when he last appeared on the Fox News show “OBJECTified.” After sitting down with Cuban, TMZ’s Harvey Levin (who hosts OBJECTified) said today he believes Cuban will be a candidate.

But most surprising of all, despite campaigning for Hillary, Cuban wouldn’t run as a Democrat….. or an independent. Now that the full interview aired last night, Cuban confirmed that if he were to challenge Trump in 2020, it would be as a Republican.

According to the Daily Mail, Cuban said in last night’s interview, “I think there’s a place for somebody who is socially a centrist but I’m very fiscally conservative.”

Here’s more from the report: “Cuban discussed with Harvey Levin, how he fashions himself as ‘fiercely independent’ but would decide to run as a Republican under the United States two-party system. Trump has multiple potential contenders vying to take his place as the Republican presidential candidate in 2020. Cuban previously said: ‘The door is wide open. It’s just a question of who can pull it off’.'”

Cuban says that he’s asked “100 times a day” whether or not he’ll run in 2020, and as for that likelihood of a run on a scale of 1-10, he claims to currently be at a 4.
