Retired U.S. Marine James Kilcer turned heads when he wore a “Let’s Go Brandon” shirt to an award ceremony held in his honor by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) in Arizona.
Kilcer is being hailed a local hero after skillfully disarming an armed robber with just his bare hands and a grocery bag. The impressive display of military training was caught on security footage and went viral last week.

Retired Marine Recounts Harrowing Robbery Incident
On October 20, Kilcer was in a gas station in Yuma when three robbery suspects entered the store, at least one of them brandishing a gun.
On the gas station’s surveillance video, Kilcer can be seen turning toward the alleged armed suspect and expertly disarming him. The other two people ran away, but Kilcer was able to retain the allegedly armed robber.
Kilcer told Fox News that he takes his personal safety, and others’ safety, “very seriously.”
“I turn around to go and leave, kind of walk out and as I’m turning around I hear the door kind of open real aggressively,” Kilcer said.
He added, “I saw two other guys with no other weapons and decided that’s the guy that I’m going to hit.”
“I was actually going to take control of his head and the gun at the same time, and the bag just happened to be heavy and attached to me and it smashed him right in the face,” Kilcer explained.
Kilcer’s bravery must have been infectious – the clerk at the gas station reportedly jumped over the counter to chase the other unarmed suspects.

James Kilcer Sports “Let’s Go Brandon” Shirt And Red MAGA Hat To Award Ceremony
The Arizona Daily Independent noted that the YCSO Citizen’s Valor Award was presented by Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot.
The award is given “For extraordinary heroism and exceptional courage while voluntarily coming to the aid of another citizen during an incident involving criminal activity at extreme, life threatening, personal risk in an attempt to save or protect human life.”
But it’s James Kilcer’s outfit to the ceremony that stole the show. The Marine was wearing a MAGA hat and a “Let’s Go Brandon” shirt as he accepted the award.
The slogan is a euphemism for “F*** Joe Biden.”
