Kelsey Grammer Defies Hollywood To Say He Still Supports Trump

The “Frasier” star Kelsey Grammar, who has long been one of the only openly Christian conservative stars in Hollywood, defied the leftwing entertainment world this week to say that he still supports the former President Donald Trump.

Grammer Still Supports Trump

Mediaite reported that when asked by the BBC interviewer Justin Webb if he still is a supporter of Trump, Grammer replied, “I am, and I’ll let that be the end of it.”

“I have to say, actually, Kelsey Grammer himself was perfectly happy to go on talking about it,” Webb later said on air. “The Paramount+ PR people, less happy that he talked about it at some length so we… They decided we’d had plenty of time for our interview.”

“But I should stress that he was perfectly happy to talk about why he supports Donald Trump and still does in the forthcoming election,” he continued.

Grammer’s Previous Political Comments

After the 2016 presidential election, Grammer was one of the only celebrities to admit to voting for Trump.

“In terms of policy, I don’t have a lot of problems with what he’s doing,” Grammer said of Trump afterwards.

“He’s a bit of a brat, I guess you could say, and that is astounding for people, especially who come from the more liberal side of politics — they’re used to being the brats and so they’ve just never had anybody come back at them the same way,” he continued.

Grammer had been open about his conservative views long before Trump entered politics.

“I think smaller government is a good idea, always have. I think lower taxes are a good idea, always have,” Grammer said in 2011, according to Distractify.

Grammer’s Strong Christian Faith

Grammer has also defiantly refused to apologize for being a proud Christian.

“I’ve had hiccups. I’ve had some tragic times. I have wrestled with those and worked my way through them,” Grammer told USA Today earlier this year.

“Sometimes rejecting faith, sometimes rejecting God even, in a period of being pretty angry about it,” he continued. “Like, ‘Where were you?’ That kind of thing. But I have come to terms with it and have found great peace in my faith and in Jesus. It’s not cavalier – Jesus made a difference in my life. That’s not anything I’ll apologize for.”

Grammer has also described himself as a “Bible guy.”

“I’m kind of a Bible guy,” he previously told Fox News. “I’ve been reading the Bible all my life. I turn to it for prayer, for reflection, for information, and I just always have. It’s just always been sort of at my fingertips throughout my life, ever since I was a boy. So I have a relationship with the Word of God, as they call it, that it was probably akin to what Chuck Smith’s relationship was with it.”

‘An Extraordinary Thing’

In 2021, Grammer talked to the Sydney Morning Herald about how much his faith has helped him through the dark times in his life.

“Just because you express doubt doesn’t mean faith is gone,” he explained. “It’s worth expressing your doubt. God – or whatever you want to call It, Him or Her – will usually find a way to thank you for expressing your doubts. ‘Be not afraid’ – it’s a common phrase in the Bible, and it’s an extraordinary thing.”

God bless Grammer for having the guts to be an openly Christian conservative in the increasingly radical world of Hollywood. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments section.
