Kelly Loeffler Announces She Will Object To Certifying Electoral College Results

Georgia Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler, who will face a challenge from Democrat Raphael Warnock on Tuesday in her state’s runoff election, has announced that she will object to the presidential election results in at least one state on Wednesday. 

Loeffler said in a statement first obtained by Fox News, “Elections are the bedrock of our democracy and the American people deserve to be 100% confident in our election systems and its outcomes.”

Loeffler Vows To ‘Support The Objection To The Electoral College Certification Process’

“But right now, tens of millions of Americans have real concerns about the way in which the November Presidential election was conducted—and I share their concerns,” Loeffler added.

She continued, “The American people deserve a platform in Congress, permitted under the Constitution, to have election issues presented so that they can be addressed.”

Then she announced her plans regarding certifying the electors.

“That’s why, on January 6th, I will vote to give President Trump and the American people the fair hearing they deserve and support the objection to the Electoral College certification process,” Loeffler said.

“We must restore trust, confidence and integrity in our election system,” Loeffler finished.

In addition to the Loeffler vs. Warnock race in Georgia on Tuesday, incumbent Republican Senator David Perdue is being challenged by Democratic opponent Jon Osoff.

The fate of Loeffler and Perdue’s races will determine who controls the U.S. Senate, and if Republicans will hold a majority to block the agendas of President-elect Joe Biden and the Democratically-controlled House.

Loeffler: ‘On January 6, I Will Object To The Electoral College Vote’

The other Republican senators who have announced they will object to election certification include Sens. Ted Cruz, Marsha Blackburn, Steve Daines, John Kennedy, Mike Braun, Cynthia Lummis, Roger Marshall, Bill Hagerty and Tommy Tuberville.

In the House, at least 140 House Republicans are also expected to object to certifying the election results.

Senator Loeffler also vowed to object to certifying the Electoral College during President Trump’s rally in Dalton, Georgia Monday night on the eve of that state’s crucial runoff election.

“I have an announcement, Georgia. On January 6, I will object to the Electoral College vote. That’s right. We’re gonna get this done!,” Loeffler told the crowd.
