Just Before Halloween, Michelle Makes Announcement About her Political Future

Back in 2011, the national debt surpassed the size of the economy on Halloween. Will we suffer any spooky political events this Halloween?

Perhaps. If Hillary Clinton is still leading in the polls this Halloween, that’s certainly something scarier than any costume anyone could ever dream of wearing, or any haunted house I’ve visited thus far.

When I saw that Michelle Obama was making an announcement about her political future, I was terrified. Fortunately, after she leaves the White House, it’ll be the last we’ll see of her in the political sphere.

Michelle Obama will “never run” for political office despite her high profile on the 2016 campaign trail, President Obama said Friday.

“She will never run for office,” Obama said in an interview on the “Sway in the Morning” satellite radio show Friday.

“She is as talented and brilliant a person as there is, and I could not be prouder of her, but Michelle does not have the patience or the inclination to actually be a candidate herself,” the president added. “That’s one thing y’all can take to the bank.”

Obama’s words are sure to disappoint Democrats, who have been openly hoping the 52-year-old first lady might someday be convinced to launch her own political career.

Michelle Obama has earned plaudits as Hillary Clinton’s most effective surrogate, making a series of powerful speeches on behalf of the Democratic presidential nominee.

But the first lady has been a reluctant player on the political stage, and those close to her have long denied she has any desire to seek political office.

H/T: The Hill

We can only wish that the President himself would’ve stayed out of politics as well – but that’s not the case. He’s breaking tradition, and will be the first President in a long while to return to Washington after he leaves office. “I’ll go back to doing the kinds of work that I was doing before, just trying to find ways to help people,” he told middle schoolers last year. “Help young people get educations, and help people get jobs, and try to bring businesses into neighborhoods that don’t have enough businesses. That’s the kind of work that I really love to do.”

Well, considering the legacy of his Presidency, he could only do better than he has!

What has he accomplished? Student loan debt has soared at a historic rate under his Presidency, now totaling over $1.3 trillion. And jobs? Since when is creating jobs something Barack Obama is known for? He’s the first President to never see a single year where the economy grew at 3%, presided over the weakest economic recovery since 1950, and presided over the only economic recovery where the labor force actually shrunk.

He hasn’t helped anyone get educated or employed under his own Presidency, are we really supposed to believe that he’ll be able to accomplish such goals with less political power? Let’s hope that both Obama’s don’t make a return to politics in the end.

Are you happy you won’t have to see Michelle any more? I personally can’t wait!
