DHS Secretary John Kelly had his work cut out for him against California Senator Kamala Harris as she tried to humiliate him during a hearing on Capitol Hill.

Harris wanted to know if DHS would stop funding sanctuary cities if they refuse to cooperate with federal orders. Kelly was trying to explain his position but was interrupted a few times during his attempt.

Kelly then did something I haven’t seen before and that is to tell a senator to let him finish speaking. Now that’s a bold move from the other side of the congressional aisle.

Harris pressed Kelly over his insistence that local law enforcement agencies comply with federal immigration laws, and his proposal to withhold federal grants from precincts that do not comply.

Kelly first began to explain his position on the civil liability issue, before Harris cut him off to label the choice facing local law enforcement as “Hobbesian.”

“Had you not cut me off, I would have said the same thing you just said, probably not as eloquently,” Kelly responded.

After Kelly described his work with local law enforcement as “below the radar,” Harris asked what he meant by that phrase.

The DHS secretary attempted to explain the phrase before Harris sharply interjected, “[e]xcuse me, sir!”

After Harris finally finished talking, Kelly tried again to discuss his relationship with local law enforcement. The California senator interrupted throughout his answer, speaking over him.

Watch the testy exchange here in the video:

Kelly and the United States government have every right to stop funding cities that house illegal aliens and choose not to work with federal law enforcement to collect and deport them.

Harris knows this but she was posturing for her state so when she goes back to California she can say she stood up for them and turned back the government. Politicians do this all the time but we all know better don’t we.

Kelly did President Trump proud at this back and forth and should be commended. What do think of Kelly’s responses to Harris and did it seem as if he took the day? Share your opinion below in the comment section and don’t forget to share this on your Facebook and Twitter timeline.
