Megyn Kelly And Jimmy Kimmel Both Blast NRA, Call for Gun Control

Jimmy Kimmel got political once again last night, openly weeping twice in a rant directed at President Donald Trump. Kimmel mocked Republican lawmakers for their calls for prayer, and said President Trump was “obviously mentally ill.”

“Tell your buddies in Congress, tell Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell and Marco Rubio — all the family men who care so much about their communities — that what we need are laws, real laws, that do everything possible to keep assault rifles out of the hands of people who are going to shoot our kids,” said Kimmel. “Go on TV and tell them to do that.”

“Tell these congressmen and lobbyists who infest that swamp you said you were going to drain, force these allegedly Christian men and women who stuff their pockets with money from the NRA year after year after year to do something. Now, not later. Now,” he said.

He then repeated a lie that’s making its rounds in the media: that Trump removed a piece of gun-control regulation aimed at preventing guns from entering the hands of the mentally-ill. In actuality, the regulation was so vague that it could’ve striped Social Security recipients of their right to own a firearm if they were bad with money. It was such a bizarre regulation that even the ACLU supported Trump in getting rid of it.

Kimmel was hardly the only one to come out swinging against the NRA this week. Megyn Kelly criticized Congress for not passing any gun control legislation in a rant she could’ve never made at Fox News.

“We haven’t done virtually anything,” Megyn said. “We all know what is about to happen right now, don’t we? We’re going to say how sorry and shocked and sad we are, and then we’re going to move on without doing anything. And then we’ll express how sorry and shocked and sad we are at the next one. And the one after that. Does anyone really think that we are going to do anything after these mass murders? I don’t.”

“I don’t believe a single one of these politicians,” she continued. “I don’t believe any of them have the courage it actually takes to push through reform. Why? Because history. And let’s face it. It’s not all on them, because we the people are the ones who hire and fire these politicians, so if we don’t get serious, neither will they.”

Kelly is obviously desperate to impress liberal viewers and shore up her credibility at her network. Her show is struggling when it comes to ratings, and her conscious decision to embrace leftist politics shows she is eager to expand her meager fan base.
