Yesterday, we reported that Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy had blamed First Lady Jill Biden for the debacle in Afghanistan. Now, Jill is firing back through her press secretary, who is demanding that both Campos-Duffy and Fox News apologize.
Jill Biden Hits Back Through Press Secretary
“This is disgusting,” said Michael LaRosa, Jill’s press secretary. “@RCamposDuffy and @FoxNews know better. They can do better and their viewers deserve better.”
“I hope they’ll apologize to the First Lady and leave this kind of talk in the [trash] where it belongs,” he added.

This came after Campos-Duffy blamed Jill for the chaos in Afghanistan on Saturday.
Campos-Duffy Lashes Out
“When you look at what’s hurting America, when you look at this lack of leadership, and you wonder who are the people responsible for putting someone this incompetent and frankly this, you know, mentally frail in this position?” Campos-Duffy said.
“And yes, of course, the media and many people are saying… Susan Rice and Obama and maybe Valerie Jarrett,” she added.

“I’m sorry, as a political spouse, I can’t help but look at Jill Biden,” she added. “No one knew better his state of mind than Dr. Jill Biden.”
“And if you ask me, the most patriotic thing Jill Biden could have done was tell her husband [Joe Biden] — to love her husband and not let him run in this mental state that he’s in,” Campos-Duffy said. “I think she failed the country as well.”
Jill Defends Her Husband
Jill has stood by her husband’s handling of the U.S. troop withdrawal despite the fact that he has been widely panned for it by both sides of the political aisle.
“My heart is with all the families of those who served and sacrificed in Afghanistan for the last 20 years,” Jill began in a Twitter post.

She then quoted her husband as she wrote, “As the President said, ‘I cannot – and I will not – ask our troops to fight on endlessly in another country’s civil war – taking casualties, suffering life-shattering injuries, leaving families broken by grief and loss.’”

It remains to be seen whether Fox News and Campos-Duffy will back down and apologize, but Jill probably should not hold her breath on this one.
