Earlier this morning, President Trump openly wondered why the Justice Department had been dragging their feet on investigating the numerous scandals involving Hillary Clinton.

In particular, he wanted to know why the Uranium One scandal hadn’t been tackled by the Department.

That scandal involves the 2010 approval of the sale of Canadian mining company Uranium One to Russia’s Rosatom nuclear company, giving the Russians control of a significant portion of the uranium supply in the United States. It was a deal that legal analyst and Fox News attorney Gregg Jarrett said “somebody’s got to go to jail” over.

So where is Attorney General Jeff Sessions on this? The President is certainly curious …

Unfortunately, Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is claiming that in a meeting with lawmakers in September, Sessions announced that he had recused himself from any matter involving Uranium One, the Trump dossier, Russia, or the 2016 election.

Um … WHY?!

Gaetz told Breitbart News that he asked Sessions to appoint a Special Counsel on Uranium One and Fusion GPS, the firm behind the discredited dossier bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign.

Sessions essentially refused.

“He said that anything that had to do with 2016 election, or Russia, or the candidates in the 2016 election, fell under the scope of his recusal, and he left the room,” Gaetz said, adding that lawmakers were left in the room with a group of staffers “who showed no interest.”

“It was Sessions’ position that his recusal on the Russia matter divorced him from any oversight on Uranium One and Fusion GPS,” Gaetz surmised. “That’s troubling.”

In July, President Trump expressed his frustration with Sessions’ handling of numerous scandals.

We’re willing to wager the frustration will mount as Sessions continues to ignore these criminal matters.

As Trump said, “At some point the Justice Department, and the FBI, must do what is right and proper. The American public deserves it!”
