With FBI director James Comey fired due to his shameful handling of the Hillary Clinton investigations, it’s time to make a change.
Comey has been considered inept for the job by the left and the right, while making shameful decisions for political reasons. Now, it’s being made clear by the media that conservative hero Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is at the top of President Trump’s list to lead the FBI.
▪ Trey Gowdy: The South Carolina Republican led the House committee investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s actions surrounding the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya. Gowdy is also a former federal prosecutor who boasts of his work on drug trafficking, bank robberies and child pornography cases. He was among lawmakers critical of Comey’s decision not to prosecute Clinton in the email server investigation, saying other government officials would have been prosecuted if they handled classified information like Clinton did, but federal officials disagree with that assessment. Gowdy said after Comey’s firing that though he had differences with the former FBI director on some matters, he “never lost sight of the fact that he had a very difficult job.”
Social media instantly started buzzing about the possibility of Gowdy, a tough Congressman and former undefeated prosecutor, leading America’s top law enforcement agency:

However, to be fair, the AP listed 3 other likely candidates, including former NYC police commissioner Ray Kelly, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke.
Each candidate has their strengths and weaknesses. But only Gowdy has the extensive investigative experience from leading the Benghazi Select Committee, which makes him the obvious choice. Teaming up with conservative Attorney General Jeff Sessions would make a powerful team which would reestablish law and order.
A well-known Democrat in South Carolina agrees, explaining that Gowdy’s honesty and integrity makes him the perfect fit to lead the FBI:
Dems are going to hate me for this. I don’t care. The best replacement for Comey is Trey Gowdy. He’s as honest as day is long.

Trump has yet to make an announcement, but I agree that Gowdy is a fantastic choice.
