Of course the defense of John Conyers was going to turn to the race card. Of course it did.
In one of the more absurd defenses of Conyers, the Democrat congressman accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) suggested lawmakers should be scrutinized less because of their status, then pointed out that all of the accusers in this case are white women.
“Other men in other industries have faced similar accusations … and gotten out of the way, resign, stepped down, far faster than he has, right?” a reporter asked Clyburn as he prepared to get on an elevator.
His flippant response – “Who elected them?”

In short, ‘those other guys were peons and we’re much more important people that can get away with sexual misconduct.’
Clyburn is almost literally saying Conyers should be able to get away with harassment of women because he’s an elected official.
And he wasn’t done yet.
Clyburn would later cite the Susan Smith case as a defense for Conyers. Smith, a mother who drowned her own two children, wrongfully accused an African-American male for the crime.
Conyers’s accusers, you see, are all white women. And the Democrat would like to plant the seed that maybe, just maybe, they are all racists trying to bring down the black lawmaker.
Also at this morning’s House Democratic caucus: James Clyburn compared Conyers’ accusers to the child murderer Susan Smith, who initially claimed a black man had abducted her kids. Clyburn said, these are all white women who’ve made these charges against Conyers.

Can you be less self-aware? By making that statement, Clyburn is essentially dismissing the credibility of any white woman who comes forward to make claims of sexual misconduct simply because of their skin color.
Which … seems kind of racist!
Wow. I can’t believe it but I think Conyers may have just killed every race card argument ever in one fell swoop. #thanks

Sounds like Mr. Clyburn is a racist.

thanks for informing the world that James Clyburn is a racist. I’m not joking… this proves it. Thanks.

Honestly, should anybody be shocked by this? There is absolutely no situation in which Democrats are unwilling to play the race card. It is their go-to play. It is the absolute leading reason we have such a racial divide in this country – Democrats play the card constantly, and those who are accused of racism or bigotry day in and day out are fed up with it.
