Is The Media Covering For China?

Some are parroting the Chinese government line.

China

If you watched the Wednesday presidential briefing on the virus you heard two members of the media ask the president if calling the coronavirus “Chinese,” or saying it came from China, was racist.

The president logically responded it was fine because that is where the virus came from.

The questions of the reporters exactly align with the propaganda coming out of China today. The Chinese are doing all they can, including making up stories that the virus was started by the U.S. Army, to deflect attention away from the fact that their late reporting and bungled coordination in fighting the virus has resulted in a global pandemic.

While likely not doing this intentionally, nor anybody producing the virus intentionally despite what you may hear from wacky conspiracy types, the Chinese are responsible for the spread of the virus. The Chinese know this will affect them in many ways.

It will hurt their worldwide prestige, as people are angered at them for their dishonesty in the matter. People will also think less of the nation, a particular sore spot in the East, for their inefficiency during the early stages of the virus there. The fallout could damage their economic brand, as consumers will wonder if Chinese-made goods could have been contaminated with the virus.

If that notion spreads then the Chinese status as the world’s number-two economic power behind the U.S. could take a beating if not disappear altogether. As their national power springs in great measure from that economic clout, the Chinese are doing all in their power to ram home the message that others, not they, are responsible for the spread of the virus. They, of course, are lying.

However, there are members of the U.S. major media who will accept any lie, no matter how dangerous or absurd, as long as it damages the president. In these people the Chinese have found willing and able agents of influence. When this is all over, the betrayal of certain members of the American media should be remembered, and acted upon.
