Many of us have gone to work sick before – and usually out of necessity. Nobody wants to go to work sick, but often we don’t have a choice.
But can you imagine going to work while recovering from a serious injury? One devoted Chick Fil A did just that. We covered it earlier. But there’s even better news below! Check this out:
A customer walked into the restaurant and saw this young man behind the counter working and loving his job. The young man’s name was Jakeem, and he had been in a car accident. Jakeem was working to raise money to give it to the homeless for Christmas.
But it gets even better. Americans came together to give Jakeem the most amazing Christmas bonus ever! A man named Cameron Nelson set up an online fundraiser for Jakeem. Here’s how he described what happened:
I stopped at Chick-fil-A & decided to go in cause the drive-thru was too long, and I saw this young man working with a neck brace & a sling. We sneeze too hard & decide to call in, but he’s working like nothing’s wrong.
When I placed my order, I asked him what happened…he said he was involved in a car accident, but he was working cause he needs the money & also wants to feed the homeless for Christmas & needs the cash. I wanted to create this GoFundMe page to help him along his mission & show some support.
So Cameron created the fundraiser, and you won’t even believe how high it’s gone!
That is just amazing. In a little over a week, over 1,500 people chipped in over $40,000. Is this an amazing story for the Christmas season or what?
Make sure you share this story with your family and friends over the Christmas season!
