If Kamala Harris Replaces Biden In 2024, ‘Ron DeSantis Would Put Her In The Ground,’ Meghan McCain Says

If Kamala Harris Replaced Biden In 2024, Meghan McCain Says 'Ron DeSantis Would Put Her In The Ground'

On Monday, “The View’s” Meghan McCain said that if Vice President Kamala Harris were to replace President Joe Biden at the top of the Democratic presidential ticket in the 2024 election, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis would trounce her.

As “The View” hosts talked about how recent polls have indicated that Harris is unpopular with voters, McCain said the vice president “needed more media training” because of tactical mistakes she’s made throughout her first term.

McCain: ‘I Think She Stumbled When She Was Running For President’

That’s when McCain also said DeSantis would “put her in the ground” if Harris dared run for president instead of Biden in 2024.

“I think she stumbled when she was running for president,” McCain said. “She dropped out before Iowa. She was a very early dropout. She wasn’t resonating with voters way before President Biden was elected.”

Harris dropped out of the 2020 race before the first votes even came in.

The conversation then turned to Biden appointing Harris as the person to fix the immigration crisis, with McCain criticizing how Democrats and the media covered Harris’ leadership on the issue including the “kids in cages” controversy.

McCain said, “It was horrific, and now that we aren’t even allowed to send journalists in to film it and she’s in charge.”

McCain continued, “She’s made a lot of tactical errors and you don’t have to just take it from me, because I’m obviously a biased actor given that I’m a Republican, but places like Politico and Axios reported how disappointed the White House was on her first foreign trip.”

“She did an interview where she was laughing about the border when she was asked, ‘Are you going to visit the border?’ And she said, ‘I also haven’t been to Europe,’ and laughed very uncomfortably,” McCain added.

McCain went on, “Her laugh has become a way for people to take hits at her because it’s uncomfortable to watch … and I always thought she needed more media training than she had.”

Then the conversation turned to if Biden would even try to run for re-election in 2024, considering that he’s 78-years-old now.

McCain: ‘Republicans Would Love Nothing More Than To Run Against Vice President Harris’

“The problem for Democrats going into 2024 is if President Biden chooses not to run for re-election, she’s just not going to be a strong enough candidate to run for president,” McCain said.

“And if people don’t want to listen to me and think it’s all about race and gender, that’s fine,” she added.

McCain continued, “Honestly, it’s everyone’s risk to take, but Ron DeSantis would put her in the ground. I mean, it would be an election for Republicans.”

“Republicans would love nothing more than to run against Vice President Harris,” McCain promised.

To date, Biden has given no signals that he won’t seek reelection in 2024.
