Hillary Clinton Doubles Down on Bernie Sanders Attack – Says His Campaign is ‘Just Baloney’

The former Secretary of State has been increasingly outspoken in recent weeks.

Hillary Clinton has come under fire from radical leftists in recent weeks for comments she made about Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in her upcoming Hulu documentary Hillary, in which she said that his entire campaign was “just baloney.”

Instead of apologizing for these comments, Clinton just doubled down by going after Sanders once again in a new interview.

While appearing on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, Clinton said that he opinion about Sanders has not changed since she filmed the documentary.

“That was my authentic opinion then; it’s my authentic opinion now,” Clinton said.

In the documentary, which is set to be released on Friday, Clinton said that “nobody” in Congress liked Sanders or wanted to work with him and that he “got nothing done,” according to Fox News.

“He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it,” she said.

In today’s interview, Clinton also discussed Sanders’ flip flop on the number of delegates needed to win the Democratic presidential nomination. Contrary to what he said in 2016, Sanders is now saying that he should be the nominee if he makes it to the Democratic National Convention with the most pledged delegates.

“My reaction is, let’s follow the rules,” Clinton said. “We’ve got rules. We had rules last time and we have rules this time. I think it’s always a good idea to follow the rules. Everybody knew what they were when you got into it.”

Clinton went on to add that she fears that if Sanders becomes the nominee, Democrats will lose their majority in the House of Representatives.

“Change is hard, it’s not glamorous, it doesn’t fit into a soundbite and yet the people who were elected in 2018 are out there doing the people’s work,” she explained. “I think we ought to be more understanding and realistic on what it takes to get change in this big, complicated, pluralistic democracy of ours.”

Sanders, a Democratic Socialist, is currently the frontrunner in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. This has caused the Democratic establishment to go into full panic mode, as they would much rather former Vice President Joe Biden win the nomination than Sanders.

Despite the fact that she is clearly no fan of Sanders, Clinton refused to endorse any candidate today.

“Today is obviously a big day,” she said. “I’m just watching and hoping that we nominate whoever is the strongest candidate to take out the current incumbent. That’s the only thing that really matters at the end of the day.”

Many Sanders supporters still believe that the DNC rigged the 2016 Democratic primary to give Clinton the nomination over him, and the establishment seems to be preparing to do something similar this time around to give the nomination to Biden.

In any case, it’s clear that the Democratic Party is more divided than ever, which leaves their chances of beating Trump come November getting slimmer and slimmer by the day.
