Ron Klain, Joe Biden’s selection for Chief of Staff should he be officially confirmed the winner of the 2020 presidential contest, once complained that elections are rigged.
Biden made the announcement about Klain, who served as chief of staff to him during the Obama administration, on Wednesday.
“His deep, varied experience and capacity to work with people all across the political spectrum is precisely what I need in a White House chief of staff as we confront this moment of crisis and bring our country together again,” Biden said in a statement.
Klain is considered by STAT, a health and medicine website, as “a pandemic-response veteran at the highest levels of government.”

Biden Chief Of Staff Ron Klain – Elections ARE Rigged
A tweet from 2014 began circulating shortly after the announcement in which Klain responded to a Vox article with the headline, “68% of Americans think elections are rigged.”
Klain replied, “That’s because they are.”
It’s unclear whether the future White House chief of staff was simply responding to the quote in the Vox tweet or the actual article, which explains that the alleged rigging is in favor of incumbents.
The piece almost immediately states that “rigging” may be too strong a word and that they aren’t talking about alleged voter fraud.
“The problem here isn’t fraud,” Vox writes. “In elections, like in so much else, the scandal is what’s legal.”
They go on to claim gerrymandering, fundraising, relationships with influencers, and seniority all play a role in increasing odds for the incumbent.

Klain And The Pandemic
While STAT praises Klain as a pandemic veteran, his name has come up on these pages in the past for curious reasons.
When he was serving as Biden’s campaign adviser, Klain praised China’s authoritarian government for its response to the coronavirus pandemic, heralding the fact that it “built hospitals in two or three days.”

Klain also countered the media narrative that President Donald Trump had not acted enough in response to the current pandemic.
On February 11th, he stated that the Trump administration’s actions were “far from doing nothing.”

In May of 2019, Klain reflected on the Obama-Biden administration’s handling of the H1N1 outbreak.
They “did every possible thing wrong,” he said.
“Sixty million Americans got H1N1 in that period of time and it’s just purely a fortuity that this isn’t one of the great mass casualty events in American history,” Klain said.
“It had nothing to do with us doing anything right, it just had to do with luck,” he added.

The 2020 election has yet to officially be certified as President Trump’s campaign has filed legal challenges in several states pivotal to the results, alleging voter fraud had swayed the outcome.
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, in an interview with Just the News, predicted that the campaign’s election lawsuits will reach the Supreme Court in a matter of weeks.
