Georgia Democrat Vernon Jones Endorses Trump In 2020

Joe Biden isn’t the only one getting an endorsement today. Georgia State Representative Vernon Jones (D) has defied party conventions and endorsed President Trump for reelection.

Jones praised the President for his handling of the economy and the impact his policies have had on the black community.

“It’s very simple to me,” the lawmaker stated. “President Trump’s handling of the economy, his support for historically black colleges and his criminal justice initiatives drew me to endorse his campaign.”

He is the first state elected Democrat official to voice support for the President.

Dems Outraged

Fellow Democrats, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, were noticeably outraged at Jones decision and “accused him of betrayal.”

The resistance party is not a big fan of freedom of thought.

“This is not about switching parties. There are a lot of African-Americans who clearly see and appreciate he’s doing something that’s never been done before,” Jones explained.

“When you look at the unemployment rates among black Americans before the pandemic, they were at historic lows.,” he continued. “That’s just a fact.”

Black Voters Could Carry Trump

Senator Tim Scott in February predicted a significant uptick in support from the black community for Trump come Election Day.

“President Trump will see a 50 percent increase in his African-American support,” Scott predicted. “It will go from 8 percent in 2016 to a minimum of 12 percent in 2020. He may even get to 15 percent of the African American vote, and that is game over.”

A recent Fox News poll indicates Trump’s approval rating amongst black voters is approaching 20 percent, a remarkable number for a Republican.

Trouble For Biden

Should Trump get key African-American surrogates helping him in battleground states like Jones, and get to that 12 or 15 percent mark predicted by Senator Scott, it will be lights out for Biden.

The former Vice President’s only hope would be to make Michelle Obama his running mate and hope she can drag his sorry campaign across the finish line.

Jones, meanwhile, was blasted by his colleagues as an “embarrassment” and “antithetical” to their supposed values.

“Never has that been clearer than this moment,” said Georgia State Senator Nikema Williams, “when he chose to stand with the racist president who has made an all-out assault on black Americans, who has tried to rip away American health care and who has failed our country in its greatest time of need.”

Trump Has Helped the Black Community in Historic Ways

Know who doesn’t think Trump is making ‘an all-out assault on black Americans’?

Black Americans.

One poll from Gallup indicates race relations in America have improved markedly under the Trump administration.

The survey saw a double-digit improvement in how Americans view the state of race relations.

It also demonstrated that there was an increase in “the position of blacks and other racial minorities, the distribution of income and wealth, and the opportunity for a person to get ahead through hard work” according to respondents.

CBS reporter Major Garrett triggered liberals when he reported Trump has “a legacy on the agenda side that almost any president after three years would want to claim, particularly President Obama,” when it comes to minorities.
