Gaffe Machine: Biden Says 200 Million People Have Died From Coronavirus

Biden

On Sunday, Joe Biden made yet another major gaffe when he said an estimated 200 million people have already died from COVID-19.

The real number of casualties in the United States? Around 200,000.

Biden On COVID-19: ‘It’s Estimated That 200 Million People Have Died — Probably By The Time I Finish This Talk’

“If Donald Trump has his way, the complications from COVID-19, which are well beyond what they should be — it’s estimated that 200 million people have died — probably by the time I finish this talk,” the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate said during a campaign speech.

The U.S. population is over 320 million people, which means if Biden’s math is correct, almost two-thirds of Americans would have died from the disease by now.

Biden Made A Similar Coronavirus Flub About The Number Of Deaths In June

In June, Biden made a similar woefully inaccurate comment concerning coronavirus and fatality numbers.

During a campaign speech in Pennsylvania, Biden claimed 120 million people had died due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“People don’t have a job, people don’t know where to go, they don’t know what to do,” the former vice president said. “Now we have over 120 million dead from COVID.”

Expect Biden’s Gaffes To Keep Coming

Biden was criticized roundly by the media at the time, with many questioning his mental health and even wondering if he was fit to occupy the White House.

Such questions about Biden’s mental fitness for the office he seeks will continue until the November election and will no doubt linger should he defeat President Trump.

His “200 million” COVID-19 death gaffe over the weekend is just another embarrassing example to add to his already troubling record.

Many of President Trump’s critics often focus on the “tone” and content of his tweets.

Will those same critics – will American voters – ultimately have the same concerns about Joe Biden’s mental ability as they go to the ballot box in five weeks?
