Former White House doctor and current Texas congressman Ronny Jackson, along with thirteen other Republican lawmakers, sent a letter urging President Biden to undergo a cognitive test.
The letter cites the president’s “mental decline and forgetfulness.”
“The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their president,” it reads.
“They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties demanded of the office, and they deserve to have full transparency on the mental state of their highest elected leader.”
Jackson would later tell Fox News, “Given the precedent set and Biden’s clear mental impairment, I believe it is past time he undergoes a cognitive test.”

Ronny Jackson Calls On Biden To Take A Cognitive Test
In his letter, Ronny Jackson cites several examples of what he believes amount to cognitive issues. Issues that require a test in his view.
“Just everything that has been going on for the last year and a half … [Biden] doesn’t know what’s going on, where he’s at,” Jackson said in an interview with The Hill.
“He’s very confused all the time,” he alleged.
One of the examples included in the letter involves an incident in which President Biden appears to forget the name of his Defense Secretary, calling him “the guy who runs that outfit.”
Fact-checking outfit Snopes has said it is “unclear whether Biden literally ‘forgot’ his defense secretary’s name at that moment, or whether, for example, he got stuck doing an extended ‘folksy’ ad-lib after initially tripping over his words.”
The 25th Amendment
Joe Biden’s predecessor and the man to whom Ronny Jackson administered a cognitive test when he was in office, Donald Trump, claimed a push by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to review the 25th Amendment last October was never aimed at him.
“Crazy Nancy Pelosi is looking at the 25th Amendment in order to replace Joe Biden with Kamala Harris,” he said at the time.

Democrats and the media will dismiss Jackson’s efforts to have Biden take a cognitive test as a stunt.
Unrelated, but important to recall, is the fact that dozens of House Democrats earlier this year called on President Biden to relinquish sole control over the country’s nuclear arsenal and the ability to launch a strike using those weapons.
The move led some social media users to speculate as to the reasoning behind the move.

“We can’t sit on this any longer,” Jackson told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “He’s not physically or cognitively fit to be our president right now.”
Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s White House physician, released a three-page statement in December of 2019 describing him as a “healthy, vigorous, 77-year-old male who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the presidency.”
