Former Top Hillary Aide: She Hasn’t Ruled Out 2020 Run

Philippe Reines, a former top aide to Hillary Clinton, says the two-time failed presidential candidate has not ruled out running in 2020.

Though he admitted the scenario is “unlikely,’ Reines told Fox News personality Tucker Carlson that if Clinton still believed she was the best choice for the Democrat party, she would jump in the race.

Hillary doesn’t think she ever lost in 2016, so why wouldn’t she think in her own little fantasy world that she’s the best candidate to take down Trump?

“She ran for president because she thought she would be the best president,” Reines told Carlson. “If she thought she had the best odds of beating Donald Trump, I think she would think about it long and hard.”

Why Hillary is the Choice

The former Clinton advisor suggested that Hillary isn’t experiencing any dismay with the current crop of candidates and wouldn’t be worried about their performance in the campaign.

“She’s not running because she has any anxiety about the Democratic field,” he explained. “She really likes a lot of the people running. She knows them well. She thought about some of them for her vice presidency.”

If that isn’t a Trump campaign ad in the making, we don’t know what is.

Reines went on to explain that Hillary might not simply be the best candidate to defeat the President, but she is certainly, in his mind, the best person to govern in a post-Trump era.

“There might be a reason that she’d be the best person, not only to beat Donald Trump, but to govern after Donald Trump,” he surmised.

The American people rejected the notion of a third Barack Obama term in 2016. The likelihood they’ll want to go back to being governed like that is slim.

Is It Going to Happen?

Reines would later note that a Hillary campaign would be “unlikely” and he has a better chance of winning the Powerball than of her running again in 2020.

Carlson, to the contrary, thinks the signs are there that she’ll step back into the arena.

“Why are we ignoring the obvious?” Carlson said. “Of course she’s getting in.”

The Fox News host pointed to Clinton’s recent bizarre smear of Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who is running in the Democrat primary, as evidence.

Clinton recently suggested the Russians are “grooming” Gabbard in an attempt to rig the 2020 election and that the military veteran is actually a Russian “agent.”

“Hillary Clinton weighs in out of nowhere the other day and attacks Tulsi Gabbard, calls her a Russian spy,” Carlson analyzed. “My theory, and I think it’s true — and someone who worked for the Clintons for years confirmed it for me today — the Clintons don’t do anything haphazardly, accidentally, everything is strategy.”

President Trump taunted Hillary and said the “crooked one” should definitely give it a third go-around, but suggested she’d have to “explain all of her high crimes and misdemeanors, including how [and] why she deleted 33,000 emails.”

A recent report showed bettors in England have been putting their money on Hillary Clinton, more so than any other candidate, to win the 2020 Democratic nomination for president.
