Former Aide Of NY Gov Cuomo Says His Office Was ‘Most Toxic’ Work Environment

A former aide of New York’s Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo has come forward this week to reveal that his office was the “most toxic team environment” that she’d ever experienced.

Former Cuomo Aide Says Staff Is ‘Deathly Afraid’ Of Him

Lindsey Boylan spent three years working in Cuomo’s office from March of 2015 to October of 2018. On Saturday, she claimed in a series of tweets that those who work for Cuomo are “deathly afraid” of the Democratic governor.

“Most toxic team environment? Working for @NYGovCuomo,” Boylan wrote in one tweet, going on to add in another, “I’ve had many jobs. Waitressing at @Friendlys as a teenager was an infinitely more respectful environment. Even when I had bad customers who tipped poorly.”

“If people weren’t deathly afraid of him, they’d be saying the same thing and you’d already know the stories,” she said, according to the New York Post.

While serving in the Cuomo administration, Boylan initially served as the chief of staff and executive vice president at Empire State Development, the state’s economic development agency. In March of 2018, she was appointed as deputy secretary for economic development and special adviser to Cuomo.

Boylan Says Other Staffers Feel The Same Way

In her tweets, Boylan went on to add that she is not the only person working for Cuomo who felt this way.

“Seriously, the messages and texts I receive when I speak the truth about this…it’s a whole book of people who have been harmed,” she tweeted. “Don’t be surprised that it’s the same small group of white people sitting alongside him at every presser.”

“The same group that he has had by him the whole time, doing his dirty work,” she continued. “If you’re not one of those handful, your life working for him is endlessly dispiriting.”

The situation was so bad that Boylan suggested she is still in therapy to deal with her time working with Cuomo, who was recently awarded an Emmy by Hollywood for his work handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I tried to quit three times before it stuck. I’ve worked hard my whole life. Hustled – fake it till you make it style,” she said. “That environment is beyond toxic. I’m still unwrapping it years later in therapy!”

“And I’m a privileged person. I could opt out and eventually did. I shudder to think what happens to others. It pisses me off so much,” she added. “Yes I did not sign whatever they told me to sign when I left. Nope!”

Boylan Doubles Down

Boylan doubled down on her comments on Monday, telling The Post, “I stand by what I said, and what I said speaks to not only my story, but countless others, predominately women I’ve interacted with or heard from over the years.”

Hollywood has been fawning over Cuomo this year simply because he is a Democrat, ignoring his many failings as a governor. Since the liberal elites of Hollywood have committed themselves to “believing all women,” it will be interesting to see how they handle Boylan’s claims.
