Michael Foley, the brother of James Foley who was beheaded by ISIS terrorists, was very critical of the Obama Administration last night on an appearance on The Kelly File with Megyn Kelly on Fox News. Foley said the State Department not only interfered with their attempts to rescue his brother, but they actually threatened the family.
“We’re appalled by the situation. It went past not doing everything they could. They were actually an impedance. They got in our way. That’s what really bothers me to the core. They got in our way. I was specifically threatened by the Department of State about raising funds towards ransom demands for my brother.”
Foley was also not impressed with Obama’s plan on dealing with ISIS.
“It didn’t sound like much a plan to me. I understand why certain details they don’t go into. But, I would have liked to have seen a more involved strategy that includes a plan to institutionalize change there and stabilize the region.”
The Foley founded the James W. Foley Legacy Fund in Jim’s memory. The goal of the Fund, in part, is to help families of American hostages get and share information.
