Feinstein Says China A ‘Respectable Nation’ That Has Lifted Millions Out Of Poverty

Senator Dianne Feinstein praised China as a “respectable nation” and said allowing Americans to sue the communist nation over the pandemic would be a “huge mistake.”

Feinstein (D-CA) made the remarks during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday.

The California Democrat couldn’t have pleased the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) any more with her arguments against a bill introduced by Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) that would allow U.S. citizens to sue the Chinese government for damages stemming from COVID-19.

“We launch a series of unknown events that could be very, very dangerous,” she said of the proposed legislation. “I think this is a huge mistake.”

‘Respectable Nation’

Not content to side with China over suffering American citizens, Feinstein began angling for a role in China’s PR shop.

“Where I live … we hold China as a potential trading partner,” she explained. “As a country that has pulled tens of millions of people out of poverty in a short period of time.”

“And as a country growing into a respectable nation among other nations. And I deeply believe that,” Feinstein continued. “I’ve been to China a number of times. I’ve studied the issues.”

Perhaps she should study a very recent Pew Research poll which shows 78% of Americans think China should be held responsible at some level for the global pandemic (51% say ‘a great deal,’ 27% say ‘a fair amount’).

As for being a ‘respectable nation’ – Feinstein made these comments as China is currently being accused of a “genocide” of Uighur Muslims, with video evidence showing many kneeling, blindfolded, shaven, and being led to trains.

Communist China Talking Points

Feinstein may be a mouthpiece for the CCP, but she’s certainly not the only one in the Democrat party.

Rep. Adam Schiff recently complained about the Trump administration ordering the shutdown of the Chinese consulate in Houston because of their spying, calling it an “escalation.”

House Armed Services Committee Chair Adam Smith (D-WA) defended China lying about the severity and nature of the pandemic.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) absolved China for any wrongdoing in their handling of the coronavirus by calling it the “Trump Virus.”

And of course, Biden’s entire career is a defense and/or propping up of China.

Biden spent decades appeasing China and supported its membership into the World Trade Organization along with “Most Favored Nation” trade status, which killed 3.4 million American jobs.

He’s regularly dismissed the notion that the U.S. should be worried about China claiming, “they’re not competition for us,” and joking “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man.”

And he criticized the President’s travel ban.

“This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysterical xenophobia and fear-mongering to lead the way instead of science,” Biden said on January 31st.

By contrast, President Trump has stood up to China’s spying by shutting down its Houston consulate, signed a Phase One Trade deal, and shut down travel to China due to the coronavirus.
