Far-left ‘Squad’ member Representative Cori Bush, in an interview with CBS News, argued that it’s not hypocritical for her to spend money on private security while trying to defund the police, telling critics to “suck it up” and suggesting any judgment of her actions means people ‘want her to die.’
In what can only be described as a borderline unhinged rant, Bush (D-MO) responded to criticism of her spending thousands of dollars on security, while simultaneously demanding police are defunded for everyone else.
“They would rather I die? she replied. “You would rather me die? Is that what you want to see?”
Her constituents would be wise to use the same exact argument when Bush argues in favor of defunding the police even in the face of major cities in her district being named “dangerous.”
The entire rant is a thing to behold (seen below).
Cori Bush Is More Important Than Us Peasants
The Democrat Squad member went on to insist that security for her is a right even as she continued arguing to limit the resources of law enforcement.
“I have private security because my body is worth being on this planet,” she said after saying she spent “$70,000 … over the last three months.”
Bush would also indicate that spending “$200,000” on private security would be worth it because “I get to be here to do the work.”
“So suck it up,” she told viewers. “And defunding the police has to happen. We need to defund the police and put that money into social safety nets.”
Or, perhaps it needs to be put towards mental health funding for lawmakers with an over-inflated sense of self-worth plagued by an acute case of weapons-grade hypocrisy.
If you reside in Bush’s district or worse, voted for her to represent you in Congress, how do you listen to someone rant nearly indecipherable proclamations and accusations and not hang your head in shame?

Security For Me, But Not For Thee
The Political Insider reported in June that defund-the-police-enthusiast Bush had, according to documents compiled in a ‘Statement of Disbursements in the House,’ spent thousands of dollars in taxpayer money to pay for her own private security.
That said, her statement that it approached $70,000 in a three-month timeframe is even worse than the documents had shown at the time, amounting to a little over $30,000 through the first fiscal quarter.

Bush argues that critics need to “suck it up” because her life is more valuable due to her recent efforts to save deadbeat renters from being evicted.
“I’m here standing now and able to speak, able to help save 11 million people from being evicted,” she said. “Or, I could possibly have a death attempt on my life.”

That sounds an awful lot like someone who didn’t get in the business of politics to protect people but rather, to protect herself and enjoy the perks that come along with spending taxpayer money.

Bush, with the context of using taxpayer money to fund her own private security, slammed Barack Obama after the former President criticized “snappy” slogans like “defund the police” as a losing political argument.
“It’s not a slogan,” she insisted. “It’s a mandate for keeping our people alive. Defund the police.”
Bush isn’t the only hypocrite on the Democrat Squad.

Federal Election Commission records show Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) also spent thousands of dollars on private security in 2021.
Records show that Representatives Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) also spent thousands to protect themselves.
Bush has also argued in favor of defunding the Pentagon and said America, where she serves as a congresswoman, is “racist as f***.”
