End Of A Golden Era: The ‘Rush Limbaugh Show’ Airs Final Broadcast

On Friday, June 18th, 2021, the ‘Rush Limbaugh Show’ will air its final broadcast nearly thirty-three years after it began.

Limbaugh, the conservative icon, radio legend, and conscience of the Republican Party, passed away in February at the age of 70, having battled Stage IV lung cancer.

His last broadcast was on February 2, 2021. His first, on August 1, 1988.

“El Rushbo” began his career as a DJ in Pennsylvania after dropping out of Southeast Missouri State University.

His 1988 radio show premier was heard on just a handful of outlets.

Limbaugh would go on to become the consummate voice of the conservative movement in America, having rightfully been inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame and the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

He was a titan. His show, a tidal wave of ‘dittoheads’ trying to steer America down a righteous path.

The Rush Limbaugh Show Comes to an End

Several affiliates for Westwood One radio have conservative talk show host Dan Bongino taking the time slot of the ‘Rush Limbaugh Show’ during the slot formerly occupied by Limbaugh.

Bongino paid homage to Limbaugh at the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), referring to him as the “godfather of the conservative movement in modern times.”

“It’s not just that Rush was the best player in the game,” Bongino said. “It’s that he was the best player in the game for his entire time in radio.”

As for Premiere Networks, sports and political commentator Clay Travis along with ex-CIA officer and syndicated conservative radio host Buck Sexton, will be hosting “The Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show” from noon to 3 p.m. EST on weekdays starting Monday.

“We are not replacements for Rush Limbaugh,” Travis said shortly after his new show was announced. “Because nobody replaces a legend.”

“I’m excited to pick up the sword and be able to swing back every single day at all the ignoramuses and the nincompoops,” he added.

Sexton also commented, “We’re going to do a show that will make Rush listeners proud and bring a new generation of audience to the table.”

In a statement to Fox Sports Radio, Travis said: “While no one will ever replace Rush Limbaugh, Buck and I are excited to continue advancing the causes he held dear, most importantly American exceptionalism, a fervent embrace of capitalism, and a belief in a robust marketplace of ideas.”

End Of An Era – Rush’s Golden EIB Microphone Broadcasts Its Final Message

Make no mistake – Bongino, Travis, and Sexton are all tremendous talents who will add their own spin in filling the slot formerly held by the ‘Rush Limbaugh Show.’

They are all rapier of wit and deliver with a cutting sense of humor.

Still, it’s a little saddening to hear that the ‘Rush Limbaugh Show’ is broadcasting its last today.

Rush Limbaugh was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Donald Trump at the State of the Union address days after he learned of his Stage IV cancer diagnosis in January of 2020.

During an October broadcast, he relished the opportunity to “hang around a long time to continue to annoy the left.”

Somewhere, behind his own Golden Microphone and with talent still on loan from God, Rush will be cheering on those who follow him to keep on annoying the left.

  • The sophomoric mentality of the dumbed-down, indoctrinated, Trump-obsessed, liberal cud-chewer is demonstrated yet once again. Ewe obviously didn't let ewer education get in the way of ewer stupidity.

  • This comment from a person with the user name "NoGodsNoMaster." So which is it , do you believe in a God or not? Or, do you just use biblical references when it fits you? Typical hypocritical liberal nut case.

  • Once again, the dumbed-down lib democrat is incapable of an actual retort. Defeated again by the mighty Badger. Hilarious.
