X (formerly known as Twitter) CEO Elon Musk pressed Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) to figure out which country she represents as new video has surfaced of her allegedly calling the Somali leader Hassan Sheikh Mohamud “our President.”
This latest video comes on the heels of another controversial video in which she reportedly suggests her allegiance is with her homeland of Somalia and that the United States government will “follow orders” and “do what I tell them to do.”
While these comments are unbecoming of a member of the United States Congress, it’s important to note that they rely on translations provided by outside sources. The Daily Wire had an “independent translator” confirm the content of the original video seen below.

Latest Video Of Omar Purports To Show Her Allegiance To Somalia
Another video cropped up on social media as outrage had already begun to swell and calls for Omar’s expulsion from Congress intensified.
The video appears to be from the Minneapolis Convention Center on December 15th, 2022, when Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud addressed a large crowd of mostly Somali attendees and was introduced by Omar. Both of them spoke to those in attendance in the Somali language.
Translations – again, this one not yet confirmed – accompany the video and include repeated references to Mohamud as “our President” by the far-left “Squad” member.
Rep. Ilhan Omar refers to the President of Somalia as "our president"

Omar goes on to discuss how close she is to the Somali President.
“The President and I have a special relationship,” she told the crowd to cheers. “I call him Uncle and he calls me his girl.”
It’s a good thing she didn’t call him brother, as we’d be having a completely different conversation right now if that were the case.
“Welcome to your home. Our home is your home,” Omar continued, according to the video. “Welcome to Minneapolis. We are very happy that Hassan is our president. Somalia is our home. It is home to all the people gathered here. We do not feel that it is far from us. Somalia is our heart.”
Musk Says Pick A Side – DeSantis Says She Needs To Be Deported
African-American philanthropist Musk responded to the video of Omar declaring the Somali leader to be “our President” by suggesting that she figure out just who she represents.
“The United States or another country. Pick one,” he demanded.
Omar, who has accused pro-Israel advocates of having dual loyalty in the past, also was the target of heavy criticism by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R).
“Expel from Congress, denaturalize and deport!” DeSantis wrote on X.
Omar has slammed the translation of her comments as “not only slanted but completely off” even as she admits in one video to struggling with the language herself.
Omar, the Representative for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district, moved to the United States in 1995 when she was 12-years-old. She and her family fled from the civil war in Somalia and lived in a refugee camp in Kenya for four years before resettling in the United States.
