‘Pocahontas,’ aka Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, has been among those most noticeably affected with Trump Derangement Syndrome. As a result, she felt compelled to speak up for a fellow liberal senator following a tweet that President Trump wrote about Kristen Gillibrand.
The tweet was in reaction to Gillibrand calling for President Trump’s resignation over past sexual misconduct allegations:
President Trump should resign. But, of course, he won't hold himself accountable. Therefore, Congress should investigate the multiple sexual harassment and assault allegations against him.
— Kirsten Gillibrand (@SenGillibrand) December 11, 2017
Trump shot back accordingly:
Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office “begging” for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 12, 2017
Gillibrand personally responded that, “You cannot silence me or the millions of women who have gotten off the sidelines to speak out about the unfitness and shame you have brought to the Oval Office.” Meanwhile, a number of liberals complained that Trump’s tweet was meant to be “sexually degrading,” presumably because of the “begging” part of the tweet.
Donald Trump is insinuating Sen. Gillibrand offered him sex for money. I'd call it laughable, but there is nothing funny about it. Trump is vile, he owes Sen. Gillibrand an apology. More of his history of vile behavior toward women. Imagine being married to this POS. https://t.co/9mMkVxH7p0

President Trump, this morning, insinuating that Senator Kirsten Gillibrand offered him sexual favors in exchange for campaign contributions, is the most disturbing thing I've ever seen him do. Gillibrand stands for everything that's right in America. #WeLoveYouGillibrand

Trump insinuating Senator Kirsten Gillibrand would perform sexual favors for campaign contributions is a form of verbal sexual assault. No one can condone this sort of talk from a public official, especially the president of the United States. He must resign for this. He must.
— Scott Dworkin (@funder) December 12, 2017
Unfortunately for Dworkin (in the above tweet), it’s doubtful that a tweet about Kristen Gillibrand will be what eventually takes The Donald down.
Elizabeth Warren took it to another level, however, in accusing Trump of “slut-shaming” the senator. An odd choice of words, for sure, because she’s essentially calling her fellow senator a slut. I mean, you can’t exactly slut-shame someone who isn’t a slut, can you?
Are you really trying to bully, intimidate and slut-shame @SenGillibrand? Do you know who you're picking a fight with? Good luck with that, @realDonaldTrump. Nevertheless, #shepersisted. https://t.co/mYJtBZfxiu
— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) December 12, 2017
Warren’s hashtag, #shepersisted, is a reference to a comment made by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) after Warren was removed from the Senate floor after she spoke in opposition of Attorney General Jeff Session’s nomination. It became a rallying cry for aggrieved feminist activists unaware that Warren was censured because she broke the Senate rules. She received an identical punishment to the one she would have received had she been a man.
By the way, according to Open Secrets, a nonprofit website that tracks campaign contributions, since 1996, Trump has donated $8,900 to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and $5,850 to Gillibrand.
Maybe Trump knows a thing or two about Democrats begging people for money.
