The Russia witch-hunt continues.
As Robert Mueller keeps the media occupied with his menacing moves to charge former Trump campaign officials with irrelevant crimes, members of Congress are investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.
That investigation has led to the whole ‘Trump dossier’ fiasco, where it was discovered that the Hillary Clinton campaign paid an outside firm to contract with an unseemly former spy to dig up dirt on Trump. That information has been debunked ten times over. Not only that, but the FBI may have also had a hand in creating the document, through paying to corroborate the claims within it.
The outside firm that was hired by the Democrats to facilitate the creation of the dossier was Fusion GPS. The co-founder of the firm, Glenn Simpson, testified about his role in the creation of the dossier before Congress. Now, his testimony has been leaked by California Senator Dianne Feinstein.
Trump was not pleased by Feinstein going outside of the normal channels to spread this information around. This morning, he took to Twitter to pin a new nickname on the Democrat senator. Here’s what he said:
The fact that Sneaky Dianne Feinstein, who has on numerous occasions stated that collusion between Trump/Russia has not been found, would release testimony in such an underhanded and possibly illegal way, totally without authorization, is a disgrace. Must have tough Primary!

Feinstein may be sneaky, but her release of the transcript may have done Trump a favor. The testimony raises a ton of questions about what the real goal was in Fusion GPS creating the dossier, and what role the FBI had in its curation.

Mollie Hemingway of the Federalist also questioned Feinstein’s motivation for leaking the transcript. She wrote the following,
But for a committee that had worked fairly well in a bipartisan manner, Feinstein’s decision to unilaterally release testimony against the wishes of the majority in the middle of an ongoing investigation was a curious one.
She may have been upset with her colleagues Grassley and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) for not consulting her before making a criminal referral for Steele on the basis of false statements to federal authorities.
